A month of nature, tradition, and gastronomy at the gates of the Po Delta Park
The Settembre Santalbertese is the most anticipated event of the year in Sant'Alberto, a hamlet of the Municipality of Ravenna in Emilia-Romagna, located at the southern end of the Po Delta Park. For about a month, between the end of August and the beginning of autumn, the village transforms into a large, widespread stage with a rich calendar that blends gastronomy, nature, music, and culture. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Sant'Alberto and is entirely free admission.
The highlight of the festival is the Potato Festival, now in its 25th edition in 2025: a food and wine festival celebrating the potato and the flavours of Romagna tradition. The gastronomic stand, set up at via Nigrisoli 129, next to the sports field, offers typical dishes every evening such as potato gnocchi and tortato, stew, cotechino, and other specialities prepared according to local recipes. Takeaway service and ample parking are available.
Opening the month of celebration is Santalbirra, the preview dedicated to beer and good music, with a gastronomic stand and live shows in the Pro Loco area. During the Potato Festival, the evenings continue with live concerts and musical entertainment, while hobbyists, artisans, and creative workshops for children liven up the village streets.
The Settembre Santalbertese is not just about gastronomy. Among the traditional events are the nature excursion "Sunset in Boscoforte", which takes visitors at sunset into the Valli di Comacchio in collaboration with the NatuRa Museum and the Po Delta Park, and the Granfondo Cotekino Offroad, a non-competitive cycling tour with long and short routes. There is also space for culture with literary aperitifs, exhibitions at the Olindo Guerrini House Museum and the NatuRa Museum.
Closing the month is the Village Festival, with markets, gastronomic stands, shows, and the presentation of the "Wooden Fish" award, a light-hearted and affectionate recognition traditionally given to personalities and citizens of Sant'Alberto. A festival that tells the identity of a village tied to water, the countryside, and Romagna conviviality.
The 2026 edition of the Settembre Santalbertese confirms the tradition of the major late-summer event in Sant'Alberto, a hamlet of Ravenna at the gates of the Po Delta Park. The Potato Festival is announced to start on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, with the gastronomic stand managed by the Pro Loco at via Nigrisoli 129.
As every year, the event will combine the food and wine festival with a packed program of concerts, nature excursions, markets, exhibitions, and the traditional Village Festival. The complete program, with detailed dates and times, will be published by the Pro Loco of Sant'Alberto closer to the event.
The gastronomic events are held in the Pro Loco area next to the sports field, at via Nigrisoli 129 in Sant'Alberto (Ravenna). Other cultural events take place at the Olindo Guerrini House Museum and the NatuRa Museum.
Sant'Alberto is located about 18 km north of Ravenna, reachable by car via the SS309 Romea or the SP1. It is served by intercity buses; the nearest train station is Ravenna.
The gastronomic stand of the Potato Festival is generally open every evening from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with live concerts starting at 9:00 PM. Free admission to the entire event.
