Poetry of the Land: when food and wine become a community celebration

Poetry of the Land is the most anticipated food and wine event of the summer in Mori, located in Vallagarina, in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Every June, the streets and squares of the historic center transform into a massive open-air dining room, where long tables welcome hundreds of guests for a grand gourmet dinner dedicated to products grown and raised on local soil.

A decade-long tradition

Born as an initiative by the Pro Loco Mori Val di Gresta to promote local produce, the event has grown to become an integral part of Mori's traditions. Each year, it takes on a new look thanks to fresh initiatives and ever-changing menus, yet it remains faithful to its original inspiration: telling the story of the deep bond between the community and its land through food. Over time, the gastronomic experience has been enhanced by entertainment, including shows and live music.

The flavors of Trentino on the table

The undisputed stars of the evening are traditional Trentino products, organic and locally sourced, paired with wines from local cellars. Highlights of the event's menus include:

• Carne salada, a staple of Trentino tradition, also served as a tartare;
• Val di Gresta purple polenta, made from native corn;
• Teroldego and other wines from the Vallagarina wineries;
• Wild blueberries from Val di Gresta, featured in risottos and desserts;
• Local flours, cheeses, and traditional desserts like meringata.

Live music and a convivial atmosphere

The dinner is accompanied by live music: past editions have featured popular tribute bands, ranging from Queen tributes to 883 projects, filling the squares of Mori with energy and good spirits. The atmosphere is that of a genuine village festival, where the pleasure of being together and the desire to build community are just as important as the dishes served.

In Mori, the heart of Val di Gresta

The municipality of Mori is the gateway to the Val di Gresta, known as the "organic vegetable garden of Trentino," renowned for its mountain vegetable and fruit cultivation. Poetry of the Land celebrates this agricultural vocation, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of Vallagarina in a festive and welcoming setting.
