About Caccamo Pizza Festival

The Pizza Festival — The Flavors of Caccamo is the most anticipated food and wine event of the Caccamo summer. For two evenings, Corso Umberto I and the ancient streets of the historic center come alive with wood-fired ovens, master pizza makers, and stalls featuring Sicilian delicacies, all in the shadow of the spectacular medieval castle. Organized by the Vivi Caccamo Natural Shopping Center, the event combines tastings, shows, live music, and the extraordinary opening of the village's monuments, in a festive atmosphere that attracts thousands of visitors from across the province of Palermo every year.

The festival celebrating pizza in the heart of Caccamo

The Pizza Festival — The Flavors of Caccamo is one of the most beloved food and wine festivals in the Palermo area. Set in the charming medieval village of Caccamo, perched at an altitude of about 520 meters on the slopes overlooking the San Leonardo river valley, the event transforms Corso Umberto I and the narrow streets of the historic center into a grand culinary journey. The absolute star is pizza, the undisputed queen of the event, accompanied by numerous local gastronomic specialties.

A journey of flavors beneath the castle

Along the main street, wood-fired ovens and stations for master pizza makers are set up, tirelessly baking fragrant pizzas prepared with local ingredients. Alongside the pizza stalls, there are tastings of typical Sicilian products, traditional sweets, and local crafts. Everything takes place in the shadow of the Castle of Caccamo, one of the best-preserved Norman fortresses on the island, which, along with the churches of the historic center, opens its doors to visitors during the festival evenings.

Music, shows, and a festive atmosphere

The Pizza Festival is not just about gastronomy: bands, musical groups, and entertainment moments alternate along the route, accompanying the stroll between the stalls. Recent editions have hosted well-known faces of Sicilian entertainment, with cabaret, comedy, and live music enlivening the stage until late at night. Admission is free and the event comes to life in the evening hours, when the cool hill air makes visiting the village even more pleasant.

Caccamo, a jewel of the Palermo area

Included in the circuit of the most beautiful villages in the region, Caccamo is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, in Sicily, rich in churches, monuments, and works of art. The Pizza Festival represents a perfect opportunity to discover this heritage by combining culture, history, and conviviality. The initiative is promoted by the Vivi Caccamo Natural Shopping Center, which every year involves merchants, pizza makers, and local associations to enhance the historic center and its traditions.
