A celebration of Belmonte Mezzagno's local products, featuring tastings and Sicilian folklore
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of Belmonte Mezzagno, a small town in the hinterland of the Province of Palermo, Corso Aldo Moro transforms into a culinary journey with the Colors and Scents of Gastronomic Tradition festival. The initiative, promoted by the Pro Loco with the support of the Municipality and the relevant department, aims to showcase the area's typical products and offer visitors an experience that blends local culture, gastronomy, and identity.
The heart of the event is a rich tasting of the most representative specialties of the Belmonte and Sicilian tradition. Along the main street, you can sample:
These products tell the story of the agricultural and pastoral soul of this corner of Sicily, the result of know-how passed down from generation to generation.
Enriching the evening is the participation of the folk group Annacamuni Picciotti, who perform traditional Sicilian songs, dances, and costumes. Their performances recreate the atmosphere of festivals from the past and strengthen the community's bond with its cultural heritage, giving residents and visitors a dive into the town's popular roots.
More than just a food festival, Colors and Scents of Gastronomic Tradition is a collective celebration where Belmonte Mezzagno showcases the best of its food and wine. An event designed to rediscover local flavors and bring the community together around the table and music, in the spirit of a Sicily that makes hospitality and conviviality a core identity value.
At the moment, the Pro Loco of Belmonte Mezzagno has not yet announced the official dates for the 2026 edition of Colors and Scents of Gastronomic Tradition. Considering its usual timing in December, it is plausible that the event will return along Corso Aldo Moro with its customary format of tastings and folk performances. The detailed program will be published by the organizers closer to the event.
Along Corso Aldo Moro, in the center of Belmonte Mezzagno (PA), Sicily.
By car: Belmonte Mezzagno can be reached via the SS121, about 20 km south of Palermo. The nearest airport is Palermo "Falcone-Borsellino" (Punta Raisi). The reference train station is Palermo Centrale, from where you can continue by car or bus.
The event takes place outdoors along the main street and is free to attend; tastings of local products are organized at the stands set up by the Pro Loco.
The event is traditionally held in December. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: we recommend following the social media channels of the Pro Loco of Belmonte Mezzagno for updates.
