A weekend of sport, music, and solidarity on the Piné Plateau
Every year at the start of summer, the Bedolpian sports field in Baselga di Pinè, in the heart of the Piné Plateau, transforms into the stage for Piné On Fire — Daniele Giovannini Memorial. Organized by the Volunteer Fire Department with the support of the local community, this event is a village festival, a sporting highlight, and, above all, a charity fundraiser. It is dedicated to the memory of Daniele Giovannini, a beloved local volunteer firefighter and choir member, keeping his legacy of generosity and team spirit alive.
The spectacular heart of Piné On Fire is the firefighter skills challenge, where teams compete in a traditional hydraulic rescue tool course—a unique event that tests precision, strength, and teamwork. Alongside the firefighting demonstrations, the festival features 3 km and 10 km running races, as well as a non-competitive run and walk open to everyone, set against the natural backdrop of the Piné Plateau.
The two-day event is accompanied by a rich entertainment program: live music from various bands, performances by the Coro Abete Rosso (of which Daniele was a member), comedy shows, and DJ sets. There is also plenty of local cuisine, with traditional Trentino dishes served at the sports area's food stand, making the event a perfect gathering spot for families, athletes, and visitors.
Piné On Fire is more than just sport and celebration: all proceeds from the event are donated to ADMO (the Bone Marrow Donors Association) to support research and the fight against leukemia. Participating means combining fun with a concrete gesture of solidarity. The event takes place in the municipality of Baselga di Pinè, in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige, and has become a staple of the plateau's summer calendar.
During the weekend of June 6-7, 2026, the Bedolpian sports field in Baselga di Pinè hosted the fourth edition of Piné On Fire, the Daniele Giovannini Memorial. Once again, the event combined spectacular firefighter skills challenges using hydraulic tools with 3 km and 10 km running races, alongside non-competitive runs and walks open to everyone.
The entertainment program was packed: the accordion music of Bruno Regnana, the Coro Abete Rosso, the Time Travel — Human Led Show, comedy by Lucio Gardin, the 883 Tribute band, and DJ sets, all accompanied by local cuisine. All proceeds were donated to ADMO to support the fight against leukemia.
