Food, culture, and entertainment in the heart of the Monregalese area
Piacere Carrù is the event that transforms the historic center of Carrù, the informal capital of the Monregalese area in the province of Cuneo, into a grand street festival dedicated to taste, culture, and entertainment. Promoted by the local Confcommercio, the festival was born from the idea of showcasing the excellence of the Piedmontese territory and bringing the town's streets and squares to life with voices, flavors, and colors.
The most anticipated moment is the great day dedicated to food and wine, when the town center fills with stalls, activities, and new attractions. The festival kicks off in Piazza Dante with a showcooking event organized in collaboration with Slow Food: a journey of taste that intertwines local products and guests, with "In Teglia" focaccia and wines from the Cantina di Clavesana accompanying the tastings. Local restaurateurs set up their food and wine stands, while a large market of artisans and hobbyists winds through the streets.
Among the most scenic offerings are the hot air balloons, with tethered flights in Piazza Divisione Alpina Cuneense offering a unique perspective to observe Carrù from above. There is no shortage of workshops for children, games, the toy bus, and many activities designed for families, making the town a place to be enjoyed for an entire day.
The festival continues with cultural and entertainment events in Piazza Divisione Alpina Cuneense. These include the talk show "Storie di Serie A," which brings former football players and testimonies spanning over half a century of Italian football to the stage, and the show "La Fisica dell'Estate" with science communicator Vincenzo Schettini, who makes science accessible and fun. The evening events, with free admission, are often accompanied by a street food area.
Carrù is famous throughout Piedmont for its tradition linked to the "bue grasso" (fat ox) and meat-based cuisine, and Piacere Carrù is the ideal opportunity to discover this gastronomic identity in a festive setting. The event, included in the lively calendar of the Municipality of Carrù and the province of Cuneo, represents a reference point for those who want to experience the best of Monregalese food, wine, and culture.
The 2026 edition, promoted by the Confcommercio of Carrù, offers a main day dedicated to food and families and two evening shows. The festival in the town center opens with the Slow Food showcooking in Piazza Dante, accompanied by restaurateur stands, tethered hot air balloons, children's workshops, and a large market of artisans and hobbyists.
Carrù is located in the province of Cuneo, in the Monregalese area. By car, it can be reached via the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Carrù-Mondovì exit) and local provincial roads. By train, the Carrù station is served by the regional line of the Cuneo area.
Access to the event and markets is generally free. The evening shows in Piazza Divisione Alpina Cuneense are free of charge until capacity is reached.
It is recommended to reach the historic center on foot, leaving your car in the peripheral parking lots on days with high attendance.
