About Resté

Resté is a contemporary art program spread across the municipalities of Cerretto Langhe, Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, and Rodello, in the heart of the Langhe region in the province of Cuneo. Now in its fourth edition in 2026 and part of the regional ORMA network – Artist Traces in Langhe Monferrato Roero, it features artist residencies, permanent landscape installations, exhibitions, and participatory practices inspired by the Piedmontese concept of 'restanza': inhabiting places with care and awareness.

Resté: art that tells the value of staying

In the heart of the Alta Langa, among the vineyards and villages of the UNESCO territory in the province of Cuneo, the Resté program brings contemporary art out of museums and into the everyday landscape. The project spans four Piedmontese municipalities – Cerretto Langhe, Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, and Rodello – and in 2026 reaches its fourth edition, consolidating its status as a widespread cultural platform.

The meaning of "Resté"

The title comes from the Piedmontese word resté, meaning "to stay". It evokes the concept of restanza: a conscious way of living rooted in care, relationships, and the transformation of places. In a hilly area marked by depopulation, Resté invites artists and communities to reflect on what it means to choose to stay, leaving permanent traces in the territory.

The 2026 program

From May to November 2026, Resté hosts a calendar of artist residencies, participatory workshops, and exhibitions. Announced events include:

  • Residency by Sara Fratini (April 27 – May 3, 2026), illustrator and muralist.
  • Residency by Uwe Jaentsch (June 3 – 10, 2026), an artist focused on the relationship between art and territory.
  • Project with Farm Cultural Park (October 2026), as part of cultural regeneration practices.
  • The exhibition "Dimensions of Staying" (November – December 2026), a synthesis of the journey.
  • The "Habitar" pavilion with Joacquin Mora (December 2026 – February 2027), created for the Countless Cities biennale.

A network between Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero

Resté is part of ORMA – Artist Traces in Langhe Monferrato Roero, the major cultural alliance involving over sixty Piedmontese municipalities from May to November 2026, on the road to Alba Capital of Contemporary Art 2027. The project is promoted by the Parish of San Lorenzo in Rodello together with UnTerritorio ETS and the Santi Lorenzo e Teobaldo Foundation, with the collaboration of Farm Cultural Park, GART – Neive Art Gallery, and the Teatro Stabile di Torino – National Theatre.
