Contemporary art spread across the villages of the Alta Langa
In the heart of the Alta Langa, among the vineyards and villages of the UNESCO territory in the province of Cuneo, the Resté program brings contemporary art out of museums and into the everyday landscape. The project spans four Piedmontese municipalities – Cerretto Langhe, Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, and Rodello – and in 2026 reaches its fourth edition, consolidating its status as a widespread cultural platform.
The title comes from the Piedmontese word resté, meaning "to stay". It evokes the concept of restanza: a conscious way of living rooted in care, relationships, and the transformation of places. In a hilly area marked by depopulation, Resté invites artists and communities to reflect on what it means to choose to stay, leaving permanent traces in the territory.
From May to November 2026, Resté hosts a calendar of artist residencies, participatory workshops, and exhibitions. Announced events include:
Resté is part of ORMA – Artist Traces in Langhe Monferrato Roero, the major cultural alliance involving over sixty Piedmontese municipalities from May to November 2026, on the road to Alba Capital of Contemporary Art 2027. The project is promoted by the Parish of San Lorenzo in Rodello together with UnTerritorio ETS and the Santi Lorenzo e Teobaldo Foundation, with the collaboration of Farm Cultural Park, GART – Neive Art Gallery, and the Teatro Stabile di Torino – National Theatre.
In Cerretto Langhe and the other project villages, visitors can discover works and installations integrated into the landscape, participate in community-open workshops, and experience the Alta Langa in a unique way, where cultural tourism meets the daily life of small towns. An opportunity to combine the discovery of contemporary art with the food, wine, and landscapes of the Cuneo area.
Cerretto Langhe is located in the Alta Langa, in the province of Cuneo. By car, it can be reached from Alba by following the provincial roads towards Alta Langa (about 30 km). The reference railway station is Alba, from where you can continue by car or local connections.
Resté's widespread events and landscape installations are generally free to enter. For residencies, workshops, and exhibitions, it is recommended to check methods and times on the ORMA and Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board channels.
