The traditional neighborhood festival of Pez in the historic heart of Cles
Pez in Fiore is one of the most beloved neighborhood festivals in the Val di Non. It takes place every July in the historic district of Pez, one of the most picturesque corners of the municipality of Cles, the valley's capital in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The heart of the festivities is the Juffmann Garden, on Via Romana, just a stone's throw from the ancient church of San Vigilio, which gives its name to the organizing neighborhood group.
Established in the early 1980s, the event reached its 45th edition in 2026, confirming its status as an appointment that manages to renew itself while maintaining its identity as a local village festival, driven by the volunteer work of the district's residents.
For three days, the Pez district transforms into a meeting place for the entire community and visitors alike. Each evening offers live music and entertainment, while the kitchen remains open serving local specialties. There is no shortage of moments dedicated to popular traditions, such as the torneo de mora, a game especially loved by the elderly, and activities designed for children.
The festival is organized by the Gruppo Rionale San Vigilio in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Cles and with the patronage of the Municipality of Cles. The event is an opportunity to showcase the historical and landscape heritage of one of the town's oldest districts, framed by the apple orchards of the Val di Non and dominated by the silhouette of the Castle of Cles.
A significant aspect of Pez in Fiore is the continuous involvement of young volunteers, which ensures the continuity of a tradition that is now nearly fifty years old. The event takes place regularly even in the event of bad weather.
From July 3 to 5, 2026, the Pez district in Cles celebrated the 45th anniversary of the Pez in Fiore festival, in the usual setting of the Juffmann Garden. A long weekend of celebration with local cuisine, music, and initiatives for the whole community.
Throughout the event, volunteers served the famous Tortei de Patate de Pez, along with pork chops, sausages, polenta, and stuffed sandwiches, with the flowered balcony competition awarding the most beautiful corners of the district.
Kitchen and bar open every day with Tortei de Patate de Pez, pork chops, sausages, polenta, and stuffed sandwiches.
Cles is located in the Val di Non, in Trentino-Alto Adige. By car, it can be reached via the SS43 Val di Non road; it is approximately 40 km from Trento. By train, it is served by the Trento-Malè-Mezzana railway (Cles station). The Pez district and the Juffmann Garden are located along Via Romana, in the historic center.
Access to the festival is free of charge. Catering and bar services are available for purchase according to the event's price list.
