The showcase for young producers and small wineries
Born in 2014, Only Wine Festival has become in a few years one of the most anticipated wine events in the Upper Tiber Valley and throughout Umbria. The formula is clear and counter-current: give a voice to young producers and small wineries, those realities that are rarely encountered at major wine fairs. To participate, you must meet at least one of these requirements: be under 40 years old, have a winery with less than 15 years of history, or less than 10 hectares of vineyard.
The event takes place in Città di Castello (province of Perugia), in the elegant halls of Palazzo Vitelli a Sant'Egidio, a Renaissance residence adorned with historical frescoes and home to the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio. A setting that transforms tasting into a cultural experience, where 16th-century architecture dialogues with the ferment of contemporary wine.
The heart of the festival is the trade exhibition: over 160 tasting counters and more than a hundred winemakers from all over Italy, with an area dedicated to Umbrian wineries and a constantly growing international presence, including the Jeunes Vignerons de Bourgogne and Champagne producers. There is also a section dedicated to spirits and spaces for sector consortia and associations.
Alongside free tastings, the program offers masterclasses led by sommeliers on native denominations and grape varieties, the Only Wine Awards that reward the virtuous practices of producers, and the Wine Summit, a working day dedicated to institutions, operators, and the press to build a manifesto in support of young Italian winegrowers. An event that combines pleasure, discovery, and a vision for the future of wine.
The 13th edition of Only Wine Festival animated Città di Castello from April 25 to 27, 2026, confirming the event's focus on young Italian producers and small wineries. Over 160 tasting counters and a hundred winemakers filled the halls of Palazzo Vitelli a Sant'Egidio, alongside an international section with the Jeunes Vignerons de Bourgogne and Champagne producers, as well as an area dedicated to spirits. Among the new features was the debut of the Wine Summit, the general assembly of young producers.
