An itinerary of views and flavors through the medieval alleys of Anghiari
Vinicoli – Wine tastings in the heart of Anghiari is the food and wine festival that brings the historic center of Anghiari to life every December—a stunning medieval village in the Tuscan Valtiberina, in the province of Arezzo. For a few days, the alleys, squares, and historic buildings turn into a grand "wine village": every corner of the town hosts tasting stations nestled between arches, stairways, and illuminated vistas, creating a path that combines the pleasure of a glass of wine with the discovery of one of Tuscany's best-preserved historic centers.
The concept behind Vinicoli is that of a widespread itinerary: not a single fair, but a journey through the village streets where each stop offers a different type of wine paired with a dish designed to enhance it. Visitors collect their glass and personalized pouch at the info points, choose their tasting voucher booklet, and set off to discover the stations set up in squares and historic venues. Along the way, you will encounter sparkling wines, whites and rosés, bold reds, orange and macerated wines, Vinsanto, and spirits, in a range that spans from Tuscan excellence to national and international labels.
Alongside the wine tastings, Vinicoli dedicates space to other local treasures: extra virgin olive oil, craft beers, spirits, cigars, piadina, and artisanal pinsa, as well as local agricultural products. The program is enriched with special initiatives—tastings of rare labels, sensory journeys combining wine and perfumery, evening DJ sets, markets, and guided walks through the village with a glass in hand—making the event much more than a simple wine fair.
The choice of Anghiari as a backdrop is no coincidence. Overlooking the Valtiberina and famous for the historic Battle of Anghiari in 1440, the village is listed among The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and offers a maze of alleys, stairways, and squares that become the natural theater for the event. Visiting Vinicoli therefore means combining the tasting of fine wines with the discovery of the historical and architectural heritage of this corner of Tuscany, during the pre-Christmas period when the historic center lights up and dresses for the festivities.
Launched just a few years ago, the event has grown rapidly to become one of the most anticipated food and wine appointments in the Valtiberina, capable of attracting thousands of visitors and serving thousands of glasses during its opening days. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Anghiari together with local trade associations.
The 2026 edition of Vinicoli – Wine tastings in the heart of Anghiari is scheduled from Friday, December 5th to Monday, December 8th, 2026, in the historic center of Anghiari (Arezzo). The dates are confirmed by local tourism sources.
As in previous editions, the event will offer a widespread tasting itinerary through the village streets, with stations dedicated to sparkling wines, whites, rosés, reds, macerated wines, Vinsanto, and spirits, paired with typical Tuscan dishes. Thematic areas dedicated to EVO oil, craft beers, and local products are also expected, alongside special initiatives (tastings of rare labels, sensory journeys, DJ sets, markets, and guided walks).
The full program, daily schedules, and tasting booklet prices will be published on the official website vinicoli.it closer to the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been published. It will be announced by the organization in the weeks leading up to the event on the official website vinicoli.it.

The names of participating wineries and final schedules will be communicated with the official program.
Fourth edition of the food and wine festival in Anghiari: four days of wine tastings in the historic center of the medieval village, among the illuminated streets of the Tuscan Valtiberina during the pre-Christmas period.
Anghiari is located in the province of Arezzo, in the Tuscan Valtiberina. By car, it can be reached from the A1 motorway (Arezzo exit) continuing towards the E45, or from the E45 Cesena-Orte (Sansepolcro exit). The nearest train station is Sansepolcro, which is connected to Anghiari by local bus.
Collect your glass and pouch at the historic center's info points, purchase a booklet of tasting vouchers, and start your journey along the tasting route. Each tasting costs a certain number of vouchers depending on the type of wine. A deposit is required for the glass, which is refunded upon return.
The event takes place in December, in the middle of winter: warm clothing is recommended to enjoy the outdoor route through the village alleys. For special dinners and certain initiatives, reservations are mandatory. Information and the full program are available on the official website vinicoli.it.
