A concert series in the gardens of Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo Alto
Every summer, the garden of Palazzo Pretorio in the medieval village of Certaldo Alto (Florence province, Tuscany) becomes the beating heart of music thanks to Note a Palazzo. This concert series is designed to showcase the local music scene, where emerging young talents share the stage with professional musicians in a dialogue between tradition and innovation, passion and training.
Few places offer such an evocative atmosphere. The Palazzo Pretorio garden, overlooking the terracotta rooftops and the hills of the Valdelsa, provides a natural backdrop that amplifies the listening experience. Evenings begin at 9:30 PM, as the sunset fades into the night sky and melodies drift through the ancient walls of the village that was the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio.
The festival is the result of a synergy between Pro Loco Certaldo, the Polis Association, and the Municipality of Certaldo. The goal is twofold: to promote youth music and provide visibility to local music schools and associations, while offering the community and visitors a high-quality, free-admission program. The calendar features a rotation of chamber orchestras, school ensembles, bands, and quartets, spanning various genres and historical periods.
Note a Palazzo has become a highly anticipated event in the Certaldo summer, attracting a loyal audience; in previous editions, several evenings were completely sold out. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the charm of the historic village and experience music in an intimate and immersive setting.
