In the village of Castagnole delle Lanze, in the province of Asti, Piedmont, Nero Sublime comes to life—the first immersive festival dedicated to the summer black truffle (known locally as scorzone) of the Asti area. Launched in 2025 to an enthusiastic reception from visitors, producers, and enthusiasts, the event has already carved out an important place in the food and wine calendar of the UNESCO hills of Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato.
A journey into truffle culture
The core idea of the festival is to showcase the truffle not just as a product to be tasted, but as a cultural and identity-defining heritage of the territory. For this reason, Nero Sublime alternates between social and educational moments: from gala dinners featuring local cuisine to conferences with experts from the National Truffle Study Center, and a market showcasing the trifulau (truffle hunters) and the gastronomic excellence of Monferrato.

Nero Sublime — edition 2026
The second edition of Nero Sublime brings Castagnole delle Lanze to life from June 19 to 21, 2026, confirming the immersive formula that made its debut a success. Three days dedicated to the summer black truffle between the Belvedere of Piazza Balbo, the Church of the Battuti Bianchi, and the historic center's porticoes, with the involvement of the National Truffle Study Center, Vivai Roagna, and Ristorante Roma. A program that weaves together haute gastronomy, education, family entertainment, and the promotion of the Asti Monferrato territory.
Programme Nero Sublime 2026
Friday, June 19
- 8:00 pm — Gala dinner at the Belvedere, as part of the Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy. Black truffle menu created specifically for Nero Sublime by Ristorante Roma, with musical entertainment. Reservations by June 17 (paid activity).
Saturday, June 20
- 9:00 am — Conference «Truffle Area 4.0 – The Black Truffle: The Other Side of the Coin» at the Church of the Battuti Bianchi, with leaders of the National Truffle Study Center and food journalist Giovanna Ruo Berchera (free admission).
- 10:30 am - 12:30 pm — Opening of the Lanze Point.
- 6:00 pm — Inauguration of the second edition at the Belvedere of Piazza Balbo (free admission).
- From 6:00 pm — Excellence Village and Black Truffle Market under the porticoes, with stands of black truffle and local products (free admission).
- From 6:00 pm — Children's activities at the Belvedere (free admission).
- From 7:00 pm — «Nero Sublime – music.wine.truffle» in Piazza Balbo: themed aperitifs with black truffle and DJ set (paid activity).
Sunday, June 21
- 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm — E-bike tour (approx. 20 km, 3 hours) departing from Piazza Giovannone, through the hills, with a simulated truffle hunt. Tour and hunt are free; final snack-aperitif €10.
- From 6:00 pm — Giant chessboard with a simulated chess match in Piazza Giovannone (free).
- From 7:00 pm — «Nero Sublime – wine.truffle» in Piazza Balbo: themed aperitifs with black truffle (paid activity).
- From 7:00 pm — Moscato, Vermouth, and chocolate evening at the Renato Ebrille Town Hall Belvedere: tasting journey with a menu by Ristorante Roma and live music by Maestro Felice Reggio (€40).
- Awards ceremony for the trifulau and the truffles on display.

How to get there
Castagnole delle Lanze (AT) can be reached by car via the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway (Castagnole-Asti Est exit) or along the SP road via Alba/Asti. By train, the Castagnole delle Lanze station is served by Piedmont regional lines.
Parking
Vehicles can be parked in Piazza Lucchini and Piazza Giovannone. Accessible parking for people with disabilities is available near the event. No shuttle service is provided.
Dining
There is no street food; the village's restaurants and bars offer dishes themed around the black truffle.
