Sport uniting deaf and hearing children: the 4th edition arrives in Trapani
The National Youth Sports Festival is an event promoted by the National Association of the Deaf (ENS) to introduce children to the values of sport in a fully inclusive environment. In 2026, the event arrives in Sicily for the first time: the fourth edition will take place in Trapani, in the Province of Trapani, from August 7 to 9, 2026, organized by the ENS Headquarters together with the Trapani Provincial Section and the ENS Sicily Regional Council.
The Festival was born from a simple and powerful idea: sport as a tool for growth and breaking down barriers. For this reason, the initiative is open to deaf and hearing children and teenagers, invited to experience three days of enthusiasm, play, and fun together. Beyond the sporting dimension, the event is a moment of meeting and sharing for families in the ENS community, with the goal of fostering active participation and collaboration between local branches throughout Italy.
The Festival is a national event that changes cities every year. After previous editions, including the 2025 Rome event hosted at the Guardia di Finanza Sports Center, the choice for 2026 fell on Trapani, the gateway to Western Sicily overlooking the Mediterranean. The city, known for its salt pans, the Egadi Islands, and its hospitality, provides the backdrop for a weekend of sport and social interaction for the younger generation.
Registration is carried out via online forms, with a deadline of May 16, 2026. The detailed program of sports activities, participation methods, and logistical information will be communicated directly by the ENS in the weeks leading up to the event. For all updates, we recommend consulting the official website of the National Association of the Deaf.
