About ArteMusiCultura

ArteMusiCultura is the major summer festival hosted by the Municipality of Partanna, located in the Belìce Valley in the province of Trapani. From July to September, the historic center comes alive with concerts by national artists, open-air cinema, archaeological trekking, stargazing, book presentations, and the famous Notte Bianca (White Night) featuring street food. Highlights include the Red Onion Festival and the patronal feast of San Vito, in a celebration that has united Sicilian music, culture, and popular traditions for over twenty years.

A summer festival in the heart of the Belìce Valley

ArteMusiCultura is the premier summer cultural festival in Partanna, a town in the Belìce Valley in the province of Trapani, in the heart of western Sicily. Organized by the Municipality of Partanna with the support of the Sicilian Region, the Union of Belìce Valley Municipalities, the Selinunte Archaeological Park, and the Sebastiano Tusa Foundation, the event spans the entire summer, from July to September, transforming the squares, courtyards, and monuments of the historic center into open-air stages.

A rich and multidisciplinary program

Now in its twentieth year, ArteMusiCultura offers a program that weaves together diverse genres and artistic expressions. Each year, the lineup alternates between pop and singer-songwriter concerts, theatrical performances, open-air cinema screenings, book presentations, excursions, and family workshops. The festival venues are among the town's most evocative spots:

  • Piazza Falcone e Borsellino, the beating heart of evening events;
  • the Lucio Dalla Theatre, home to concerts and shows;
  • Castello Grifeo and its gardens, which host literary encounters and astronomical observations;
  • the Cloister of the former Benedictine Monastery, an intimate setting for readings and chamber music.

The Notte Bianca and major musical acts

Among the most popular events is the Notte Bianca with street food, which draws thousands of people to the square every summer for a major free concert. In recent years, Partanna has hosted nationally renowned artists such as Fred De Palma, Elettra Lamborghini, Mr Rain, and Boomdabash, confirming the festival's popular appeal.

Traditions, gastronomy, and heritage

ArteMusiCultura is more than just music: the festival celebrates the local identity through the Red Onion Festival of Partanna (the TipicuèArte event), a local specialty celebrated with tastings and traditional dishes, and the festivities in honor of Saint Vitus the Martyr, featuring a historical procession. Archaeological trekking in the Stretto district and visits to the Archaeological Museum complete an offering that combines leisure, culture, and discovery of the Belìce Valley's heritage.

A defining event for Partanna

For the Municipality of Partanna and all of western Sicily, ArteMusiCultura has represented the main summer gathering point for over twenty years, capable of enlivening the town and attracting visitors from neighboring areas. A widespread festival that tells the story, evening after evening, of the cultural vitality of a territory rich in history.
