Steps of Legality: the first Misiliscemi marathon

The 1st Misiliscemi Marathon – Steps of Legality is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026, with the start set for 9:00 AM. This is the inaugural edition of a running race that the Municipality of Misiliscemi, in the Free Municipal Consortium of Trapani, has included in its "Summer Evenings" event program. The organization is managed by ASD Misilese, with technical collaboration from Number One ASD-APS and the patronage of the municipal administration.

A race with a message

As the name suggests, "Steps of Legality" is not just a running race but also an opportunity for civic reflection. The event is ideally linked to the Day of Legality, Justice, and Memory dedicated to Judge Alberto Giacomelli, scheduled for September 14 at the Salinagrande Town Hall. Running through the local districts thus becomes a symbolic gesture of participation and attachment to the values of legality, which are deeply felt in this part of Sicily.

The territory of Misiliscemi

Misiliscemi is one of the youngest municipalities in Sicily: established in 2021 following the detachment of eight districts from the territory of Trapani — including Fontanasalsa, Guarrato, Rilievo, Locogrande, Marausa, Palma, Salinagrande, and Pietretagliate — it is now an autonomous administrative entity overlooking the sea of Western Sicily, just a few kilometers from the Trapani-Birgi airport. The marathon crosses these fields and districts, offering participants glimpses of salt pans, vineyards, and the rural landscapes typical of the Trapani area.

To support the event, the Municipality of Misiliscemi has promoted a call for local accommodation and dining establishments, inviting them to offer packages and discounted rates for athletes, supporters, and visitors.
