National Truffle Festival of Val Bormida

Millesimo, Ligurian truffle capital

Included among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages, Millesimo (Province of Savona) is the heart of truffle cultivation in the Val Bormida. Every autumn, the village hosts the National Truffle Festival, one of the most important sector events in Liguria, promoted by the Ligurian Truffle Hunters and Growers Association (ATTL), based right in Millesimo.

Three days of market, hunting, and cuisine

Throughout the festival, the historic center, from Piazza Italia to the medieval streets, transforms into a large market for truffles and local products. Alongside stands from truffle hunters and producers, the program features show cooking with chefs and guests, guided tastings, and demonstrations of truffle hunting with trained dogs, an event always popular with the public and families.

A national recognition

The event enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Millesimo is part of the National Association of Truffle Towns, the network that brings together Italian territories dedicated to this precious undergrowth product. For those visiting the Savona hinterland in autumn, the festival is the ideal opportunity to discover Ligurian truffles and a village of great medieval charm, historically linked to the Marquises Del Carretto and the Grimaldis of Monaco.
