Vi.Ta. - Ovada Wine and Truffles is the regional food and wine fair that transforms the historic center of Ovada—located in the heart of the Ovada Monferrato area in the province of Alessandria—into a grand culinary journey every autumn. The event celebrates the two local treasures that give the festival its name: wine, featuring Dolcetto di Ovada DOCG and the nearby Gavi DOCG, and the white truffle, the fragrant star of the Piedmontese hills. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Ovada and the Ovada Monferrato area, in collaboration with the Enoteca Regionale di Ovada e del Monferrato and under the patronage of the Municipality of Ovada.

Squares of taste

Throughout the fair, the squares and streets of the town—Piazza Nostra Signora Assunta, Piazza Mazzini, Piazza Matteotti, Piazza Garibaldi, and surrounding areas—welcome producers, wineries, and artisans. Visitors can stroll through the stalls to discover traditional flavors, glass in hand, in a festive atmosphere that engages the entire city.

Tastings, show cooking, and experiences

The Vi.Ta. program combines the fair with numerous side events: show cooking with local chefs, guided tastings, themed meetings on wine and truffles, workshops, live music, and family entertainment. Among the most popular offerings are guided tours of the historic center with tastings and panoramic climbs up the bell tower, allowing visitors to discover Ovada from a unique perspective.

The inaugural dinner

The festival traditionally opens with a gala dinner at the Enoteca Regionale di Ovada e del Monferrato on Via Torino, dedicated to pairing the great local wines—Ovada DOCG and Gavi DOCG—with local cuisine. A convivial event that kicks off a weekend entirely dedicated to Piedmontese food and wine excellence.
