About Nas-cëttaland

Nas-cëttaland is the official festival dedicated to Langhe DOC Nas-cëtta, the rare indigenous white grape variety that finds its historical home in the town of Novello, in the province of Cuneo. Launched in 2026 at the Castle of Novello, the event brings together 34 local wineries for a day of tastings, masterclasses, vineyard walks through the Langhe hills, culinary workshops, street food, and live music, running from 11:00 AM until late in the evening in the castle grounds.

Nas-cëttaland, the white wine festival of the Langhe

Nas-cëttaland is the first official festival entirely dedicated to Langhe DOC Nas-cëtta, one of the most distinctive indigenous white grape varieties of the Langhe and a symbol of the oenological renaissance in this corner of Piedmont. The event takes place at the Castle of Novello, in the small town of Novello, in the province of Cuneo, recognized as the place where the Nas-cëtta was rediscovered and relaunched after years of obscurity.

34 wineries and the territory's signature grape

The festival brings together 34 wineries, including producers from the town of Novello and the wider Langhe region, who offer their wines for tasting at stands set up within the castle's surroundings. Long considered a minor variety and nearly extinct, Nas-cëtta is today one of the most sought-after and precious white wines of Piedmont: its promotion is the central theme of the entire day.

The day's program

Tasting stands remain open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, while from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM the festivities continue in the castle park with live music, snacks, and street food. The program includes:

  • Two masterclasses providing an in-depth look at Nas-cëtta and its various territorial expressions;
  • The Queen's Walk (La Passeggiata della Regina), a trek through the vineyards and hilly landscapes of the Langhe;
  • Culinary workshops hosted in the Novelab spaces;
  • Local street food in collaboration with Il Banchetto di Novello;
  • Music and entertainment throughout the day with Radio Alba, and an evening concert in the castle park.

An event rooted in the Langhe

Organized by the Association of Nas-cëtta Producers of the Town of Novello in collaboration with the Indigenous Langa association, Nas-cëttaland was created to celebrate the identity of a rare grape variety and to position Novello as the capital of Nas-cëtta. The setting of the Castle of Novello, overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage viticultural landscape of the Langhe, makes this day an unmissable appointment for wine lovers and those looking to discover an authentic corner of Piedmontese food and wine culture.
