About Nalser Rosentag

Every spring, the Nalser Rosentag fills the streets of Nalles—South Tyrol's 'Village of Roses'—with vibrant colors and enchanting scents. Since 2015, the community has celebrated the queen of flowers with a curated market, rose-infused delicacies like pralines, chocolate, and rose cake, and the signature 'Rote Rose' Rosenmuskateller wine from the Nals Margreid winery. This festival, organized by local Bäuerinnen, beautifully blends gastronomy, gardening, and traditional South Tyrolean rural culture.

South Tyrol's Village of Roses

Nalles (Nals in German), a charming village in the autonomous province of Bolzano in the heart of the Merano region, is widely known as the Rosendorf, or 'Village of Roses.' The lush, fragrant roses that adorn the homes, courtyards, and gardens of the village inspired the first Nalser Rosentag in 2015. Since then, this Rose Day has been held annually between late April and May, when the village gardens are in full bloom.

A Festival Dedicated to the Queen of Flowers

For one day, the scent of roses envelops the historic center of Nalles. The streets and the main square host a market with around twenty exhibitors offering gourmet products, gardening supplies, decorations, and rose-inspired jewelry. The event celebrates the beauty of this noble flower and its many uses, ranging from culinary arts and cosmetics to crafts and gardening.

The Flavors of the Rose

The heart of the festival is culinary: visitors can sample rose-infused pralines and chocolate, the signature rose cake, and a variety of other unique, flower-based treats. For the occasion, the historic Kellerei Nals Margreid winery produces a special rosé muscat wine each year, the Rosenmuskateller «Rote Rose», which has become a true symbol of the event.

The Rosenkönigin and Rural Traditions

One of the highlights is the coronation of the Rosenkönigin, the 'Rose Queen' who represents the village throughout the year. The event is organized by the local Bäuerinnen (local farmers and rural women), the Nalles Tourist Board, and the municipal library, serving as an authentic expression of South Tyrolean rural culture and folk traditions.

In the Heart of the Merano Region

Surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards on the sunny side of the Adige Valley, just a few kilometers from Merano, Nalles offers visitors the chance to discover a welcoming, Mediterranean-style village. It is the perfect setting for strolling among roses, tasting South Tyrolean wines, and soaking in the relaxed atmosphere of a town that has made the world's most beloved flower its calling card.

Nalser Rosentag — edition 2026

The Nalser Rosentag returns in 2026 to the 'Village of Roses' in Nalles, South Tyrol. Official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced; the event is traditionally held in spring, between late April and May, when the village gardens are in full bloom. As always, the day will celebrate the rose with exhibitors, gourmet specialties, and local rural traditions.

The 2026 edition of the Nalser Rosentag is expected to take place during the usual spring period in Nalles (Nals), in the Merano region. At the moment, the official 2026 dates have not yet been published by the Nalles Tourist Board and the organizing Bäuerinnen. Following the tradition of previous years, the Rose Day will enliven the village center with around twenty exhibitors, rose-based gourmet products—such as pralines, chocolate, and rose cake—and the 'Rote Rose' Rosenmuskateller wine from the Nals Margreid winery. The detailed program will be communicated by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
