The great autumn pumpkin festival along Via Bolzano in Lana
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Kürbistage – Pumpkin Days are one of the most beloved and long-standing events on the calendar in Lana, an important village in the Meraner Land in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, during a weekend in late September, the central Via Bolzano (Boznerstraße) dresses up in the warm colors of autumn and turns into a long boulevard of taste entirely dedicated to the queen of the season: the pumpkin.
For three days, the town revolves around this vegetable in all its forms. Along the street, there are food stands and kiosks offering steaming pumpkin soup, main courses like pumpkin pasta and gnocchi, rustic second courses, and delicious autumn desserts. There is no shortage of stalls from local producers, such as Biokistl, where you can buy fresh pumpkins, organic products, and local specialties, along with the typical scents and flavors of the South Tyrolean autumn.
Alongside the gastronomy, the Kürbistage offer a rich supporting program. On stage and along the street, there is live music and the notes of the town band, the Bürgerkapelle Lana, with traditional morning Frühschoppen accompanied by brass music. For children, there is face painting, creative workshops, circus games, clowns, magicians, and shows like the Bobby Live Show. The program is completed by fashion shows, vintage car exhibitions, and the characteristic display of the most beautiful and original carved pumpkins.
Organized by the community of Lana with the involvement of numerous associations and volunteers, the event has taken on a leading role in the life of the municipality of Lana over the years. Admission is free and the festival takes place in any weather, confirming it as an unmissable appointment for families, curious visitors, and food lovers from all over the Meraner Land and South Tyrol.
