About Kürbistage Lana

The Kürbistage – Pumpkin Days are the most anticipated autumn festival in Lana, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of the Meraner Land. For an entire weekend in late September, Via Bolzano (Boznerstraße) transforms into a long gastronomic promenade dedicated to the pumpkin: steaming soups, pasta dishes, desserts, and seasonal specialties alternate with markets, carved pumpkin displays, live music, and entertainment for all ages. A popular, free event that has become a symbol of autumn in South Tyrol.

The Pumpkin Days of Lana

The Kürbistage – Pumpkin Days are one of the most beloved and long-standing events on the calendar in Lana, an important village in the Meraner Land in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, during a weekend in late September, the central Via Bolzano (Boznerstraße) dresses up in the warm colors of autumn and turns into a long boulevard of taste entirely dedicated to the queen of the season: the pumpkin.

An entire village scented with pumpkin

For three days, the town revolves around this vegetable in all its forms. Along the street, there are food stands and kiosks offering steaming pumpkin soup, main courses like pumpkin pasta and gnocchi, rustic second courses, and delicious autumn desserts. There is no shortage of stalls from local producers, such as Biokistl, where you can buy fresh pumpkins, organic products, and local specialties, along with the typical scents and flavors of the South Tyrolean autumn.

Music, tradition, and entertainment

Alongside the gastronomy, the Kürbistage offer a rich supporting program. On stage and along the street, there is live music and the notes of the town band, the Bürgerkapelle Lana, with traditional morning Frühschoppen accompanied by brass music. For children, there is face painting, creative workshops, circus games, clowns, magicians, and shows like the Bobby Live Show. The program is completed by fashion shows, vintage car exhibitions, and the characteristic display of the most beautiful and original carved pumpkins.

An authentic village festival

Organized by the community of Lana with the involvement of numerous associations and volunteers, the event has taken on a leading role in the life of the municipality of Lana over the years. Admission is free and the festival takes place in any weather, confirming it as an unmissable appointment for families, curious visitors, and food lovers from all over the Meraner Land and South Tyrol.

Kürbistage Lana — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Kürbistage – Pumpkin Days in Lana is expected, according to tradition, on a weekend in late September. At the moment, the official dates and the program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the organizers. The free, outdoor festival is expected to renew the appointment along Via Bolzano with pumpkin-based gastronomy, music, markets, and family entertainment typical of the event.

The Kürbistage – Pumpkin Days return to Lana (BZ) in 2026, confirming their status as one of the key autumn events in the Meraner Land. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the event is traditionally held on a weekend in late September along Via Bolzano.
