Monregale Classic: Historic Motoring in Mondovì

Monregale Classic has become one of the most anticipated spring events in Mondovì, a city in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont. This rally, dedicated to vintage and youngtimer cars, attracts an ever-growing number of enthusiasts and crews from across the region year after year. The event was born from the passion of a group of local friends and has solidified through its collaboration with the Associazione La Funicolare, an organization that promotes the history and charm of the city and its famous funicular railway.

A Day of History, Engines, and Scenery

The heart of the event is the static exhibition in Piazza Maggiore, in the picturesque Mondovì Piazza district, where the cars are lined up for the delight of enthusiasts and curious onlookers. The architectural backdrop of the square, one of the most beautiful in Piedmont, provides the ideal setting for historic models, sports cars, and youngtimers that tell decades of automotive history.

After the gathering, the crews set off on a scenic drive through the hills of the Monregalese area. An unmissable stop is the Sanctuary of Vicoforte, famous for its massive elliptical dome—one of the largest in the world—which offers a spectacular backdrop for the automobiles. The day concludes with a convivial lunch hosted in a local castle, providing an opportunity to share a common passion in a friendly atmosphere.

Promoting the Monregalese Territory

More than just a car show, Monregale Classic is designed as a tool for promoting the local area: the route traverses the most evocative spots of the Monregalese region, from villages to hills, and from Baroque architecture to rolling landscapes. It is a way to introduce crews and visitors to the landscape and cultural richness of this part of the Cuneo area, combining slow tourism, historic motoring, and conviviality.

The initiative is organized by Francesco Coccalotto, Alessandro Oliveto, Luca Sarotto, and friends of Monregale Classic, with the support of the Associazione La Funicolare. Participation is reserved for registered crews, with limited spots and registration required in the days leading up to the event.
