The new Mediterranean music festival in Mazara del Vallo
Mezzo Festival is a fresh musical event held in Mazara del Vallo, a city in the province of Trapani overlooking the Strait of Sicily, historically a crossroads between Europe and the Mediterranean. Organized by the social promotion association Mezza APS, the festival was born with a clear vision: to shift the perspective on the South, portraying it not as a periphery, but as a space of connection and a cultural hub for a new Mediterranean outlook. Fittingly, the name "Mezzo" references the mare di mezzo (the middle sea), the Mediterranean, and the concept of existing between different cultures, languages, and traditions.
The heart of the festival is the Giardino dell'Emiro, a spacious green area within the Miragliano Urban Park covering approximately 6,000 square meters. Here, under the Sicilian summer stars, you will find the main stage, relaxation areas, an artisan market, a food & drink zone, and spaces designed for children and families. The festival's philosophy is captured in its motto: "children of the same sea, under the same stars."
The Mezzo Festival program spans indie, contemporary singer-songwriter, experimental electronic, art rock, rap, urban folk, and Mediterranean sounds, with live concerts and DJ sets running until late at night. It serves as a showcase that alternates national acts with emerging artists and local Sicilian projects, giving space to both established songwriting and more experimental soundscapes.
The festival extends beyond the concerts: the program includes talks and discussions dedicated to innovation, cultural tourism, youth entrepreneurship, and social transformations linked to culture, alongside exhibitions and networking moments. Mezzo Festival thus establishes itself as a well-rounded cultural project for Mazara del Vallo and the entire western Sicily region, weaving together music, art, and reflection on the future of the territory.
The third edition of Mezzo Festival takes place from July 31 to August 2, 2026, at the Giardino dell'Emiro in the Miragliano Urban Park in Mazara del Vallo. Following the "Edition Zero" in 2024 and the second edition in 2025, the festival grows to three days of programming, supported by the Libero Consorzio Comunale of Trapani. The 2026 lineup, already announced, alternates headliners from the Italian scene, DJ sets, and emerging projects, accompanied as always by an artisan market, food area, relaxation spaces, and a zone dedicated to children and families.
Live concerts and DJ sets alternate on the Giardino dell'Emiro stage until late, accompanied by an artisan market, food & drink area, and family spaces.
