The grand finale of the traveling festival along the Agrigento coast
The Sea and Taste Festival is a traveling summer series spanning ten municipalities along the southwestern coast of Sicily, organized by GALP Flag Il Sole e l'Azzurro - Tra Selinunte, Sciacca e Vigata with the support of European fisheries funds. The event was created to highlight the maritime economy, artisanal fishing, and local culinary traditions, blending them with singer-songwriter music, jazz, theater, and cabaret. Each evening takes place in a landmark location—historic squares, archaeological parks, gardens, and monumental sites become open-air stages—and is preceded by tastings of local seafood and traditional products.
In Menfi, in the province of Agrigento, the festival has been a staple since its inception. The town, overlooking the sea between Sciacca and Selinunte and famous for its Blue Flag beaches and winemaking tradition, hosts an evening of the program every year. The Menfi stops have taken place both in the evocative setting of the Teatro del Mare on the coast and in the heart of the historic center, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the hub of city life since the town's 17th-century founding.
The format of the Menfi stop pairs the evening show with a moment dedicated to local heritage and the tasting of local seafood, following the spirit that unites the entire festival: showcasing the flavors of the Sicilian sea in a prestigious cultural context. The audience enjoys the performance after discovering local fish products and traditional coastal recipes, in an evening that combines entertainment, cuisine, and local identity.
The Menfi stop is one of the most characteristic moments of the Sea and Taste Festival: the combination of the coastal town's charm, the quality of the artistic program, and the promotion of seafood products makes this evening an experience that blends culture, landscape, and gastronomy. Reservations can be made online via the official GALP website, where the full calendar of other stops along the coast between Selinunte, Sciacca, and Vigata is also published.
The third edition of the Sea and Taste Festival concludes in Menfi on October 2, 2026, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, in the heart of the historic center. The final evening of the program features a cabaret show by comedian Massimo Spata and coincides with the opening of Inycon 2026, the historic food and wine event dedicated to Menfi wine.
This appointment closes the 2026 traveling calendar promoted by GALP Flag Il Sole e l'Azzurro in the municipalities of the southwestern Sicilian coast, which opened on June 20 with Sergio Cammariere at the Archaeological Park of Selinunte and continued through Porto Empedocle, Montallegro, Realmonte, Siculiana, Sciacca, Cattolica Eraclea, Ribera, and Campobello di Mazara. As with every stop, the show is accompanied by initiatives to enhance the locations and promote local seafood tastings.
The Menfi stop concludes a calendar of ten events that featured, among others, Sergio Cammariere (June 20, Selinunte), Giacomo Tantillo Quintet (June 21, Porto Empedocle), Ivan Segreto (July 4, Montallegro), Daria Biancardi (July 12, Realmonte), Salvo Piparo (July 17, Siculiana), Francesco Baccini (July 25, Sciacca), Calandra & Calandra (August 4, Cattolica Eraclea), Nino Buonocore (August 8, Ribera), and La Voce del Padrone tribute band (August 12, Campobello di Mazara).
Menfi is located in the province of Agrigento, on the southwestern coast of Sicily. By car, it can be reached via the SS115 road connecting Sciacca to Castelvetrano-Selinunte. The nearest train station is Sciacca-Menfi on the regional line; the reference airports are Palermo (Punta Raisi) and Trapani-Birgi. Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is located in the town's historic center.
Reservations are mandatory—even for free shows—and can be made online on the official website flagsoleazzurro.it. Several festival shows require a symbolic contribution of approximately 5 euros for logistical and organizational reasons.
We recommend arriving early to participate in the tasting of local fish products that precedes the show. Combine your visit with a trip to Menfi's Blue Flag beaches and the local wineries, for which the area is famous.
