Music, art, and food & wine in the Castle Moat, between the city and its sea
In the heart of the summer, Marenere Fest brings the evocative Moat of the Swabian-Angevin-Aragonese Castle in Manfredonia (Foggia province) to life with an event that weaves together music, art, gastronomy, and a love for the sea. Created by a group of local young people, the event aims to mend the bond between the city and its Gulf, inviting residents and visitors to experience the castle grounds in a whole new way.
Marenere is more than just a night of concerts: it is a cultural project started by young people to tell the story of Manfredonia's maritime identity. The organizers describe it as a way to "create beauty by using beauty," with the goal of raising awareness about the value of protecting the sea. The event is part of the Manfredonia Festival, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Manfredonia that brings together concerts, shows, theater, dance, and cultural appointments.
The formula blends multiple languages in one space: live concerts and electronic sets, acoustic jam sessions, art exhibitions by young local artists, and food and wine tastings provided by local producers and businesses. There are also information stands dedicated to marine ecosystems, with the participation of organizations like the Naval League and groups committed to safeguarding the Gulf's fauna.
The choice of the Castle Moat, one of Manfredonia's most fascinating locations, is no coincidence: its evocative atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for gatherings and moments of sharing that tell the story of the deep bond between the Daunia city and the Adriatic Sea. A young, participatory, and growing event that is becoming one of the most anticipated summer appointments in Puglia.
For 2026, Marenere Fest extends over two days, August 7th and 8th, confirming the Castle Moat of Manfredonia as the setting for the event. The festival is part of the official Manfredonia Festival 2026 program promoted by the Municipality. As in previous editions, the formula will alternate live concerts, electronic sets, art exhibitions, food and wine tastings, and awareness-raising activities regarding the relationship between the city and the sea. Program details are being updated progressively by the organizers.
