Summer jazz on the Manfredonia seafront, between Largo Diomede and Siponto
The Manfredonia Jazz Festival is a vibrant new event dedicated to jazz music that brings the summer in Manfredonia to life. Located on the gulf of the same name in the province of Foggia, in the heart of Apulia and at the gateway to the Gargano promontory, the festival is part of the Manfredonia Festivalโthe major summer event series promoted by the Municipality of Manfredoniaโand stands out as one of its most anticipated musical segments.
The festival's beating heart is Largo Diomede, an open-air space overlooking the seafront where the evening concerts take place. The festival also extends to other iconic city landmarks: the Infopoint Terrace in Piazzetta del Mercato, the Cloister of Palazzo San Domenico, and the Siponto area, home to the famous Archaeological Park and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The format weaves together evening concerts with musical aperitifs, late-night jam sessions, and the Oltre il Palco (Beyond the Stage) talk series, designed to explore jazz as a language of expressive freedom.
Founded in 2025, the Manfredonia Jazz Festival has already brought high-profile performances to the city, alternating established names in Italian jazz with emerging projects and young ensembles. The artistic direction has focused from the outset on a diverse program, ranging from jazz reinterpretations of popular songs to big bands, and from lounge jazz to Mediterranean influences, with free admission to all evenings at Largo Diomede.
More than just a series of concerts, the festival aims to be a gathering point for the local Sipontine community and the many tourists flocking to the Gargano coast in midsummer. The seafront setting, the ambiance of the August evenings, and the intimate atmosphere of the town squares make the Manfredonia Jazz Festival an increasingly essential part of the Municipality's summer cultural programming, in dialogue with local maritime traditions and the area's rich historical and archaeological heritage.
The Manfredonia Jazz Festival 2026 is scheduled from Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, August 2, 2026, with five consecutive evenings of live music at Largo Diomede, on the Manfredonia (FG) seafront. The jazz festival confirms its place as a highlight of the Manfredonia Festival 2026, the extensive summer program of the Municipality that accompanies the city from June to August with music, theater, dance, cinema, traditions, and gastronomy.
While dates and locations are confirmed, the complete program with artists has not yet been made public: the line-up will be communicated by the artistic direction closer to the event. Admission to the evenings at Largo Diomede is, as per the festival's tradition, free.
The main concerts are held at Largo Diomede on the Manfredonia (FG) seafront, with side events at the Infopoint Terrace in Piazzetta del Mercato, the Cloister of Palazzo San Domenico, and the Siponto area.
Manfredonia can be reached by car via the A14 motorway (Foggia exit), continuing on the SS89 towards the Gargano. Foggia train station is connected to Manfredonia by bus lines. In summer, the center is pedestrianized in the evenings; parking in areas adjacent to the seafront is recommended.
Evenings at Largo Diomede are free of charge. For information: [email protected], tel. +39 334 7461677.
