A high-altitude celebration at 1,565 meters on the Pasubio, featuring polenta, alpine cheese, and Trentino traditions in Terragnolo.
The Malga Bisorte Festival is the summer highlight that brings the eponymous mountain hut to life every year. Located at an altitude of 1,565 meters on the slopes of the Pasubio, within the municipality of Terragnolo in the Vallagarina valley (Trentino), it is one of those authentic mountain gatherings far from the hustle and bustle of daily life, where the high-altitude landscape and the warm welcome of the volunteers take center stage.
Malga Bisorte is a municipally-owned property that has been maintained and kept alive since 1983 by a group of friends organized as the Club Malga Bisorte. Over the years, these volunteers have restored the roof, renovated the interiors, and preserved the ancient alpine structure, even adding a bivouac for hikers. During the summer season, from June to October, the Club ensures the hut is open on Sundays: members take turns welcoming visitors and offering traditional Trentino dishes in exchange for a small voluntary donation.
The festival is the peak moment of the summer season. On a midsummer day, the hut fills with hikers, families, and mountain enthusiasts who climb up to share a meal at high altitude. The menu reflects the traditions of Trentino alpine huts:
Malga Bisorte is also a prime starting point for exploring the natural and historical landmarks of the Pasubio massif, which served as one of the most rugged defensive lines on the Trentino front during the First World War. The festival is part of the Terragnolo Estate calendar and the events of the Valli del Leno (Terragnolo, Vallarsa, and Trambileno), an authentic and lesser-known corner of the Trentino mountains.
Those who attend the Malga Bisorte Festival won't find a massive, flashy event, but something much rarer: a community keeping their mountain hut alive, and the joyful effort of a climb rewarded by a hot meal and a panoramic view of the peaks. It is the perfect opportunity to combine a hike through the woods of Terragnolo with the discovery of the alpine culture of the Vallagarina.
The Malga Bisorte Festival 2026 is confirmed for Sunday, July 26, 2026, as part of the summer events of the Valli del Leno and Terragnolo Estate. The mountain hut, located at 1,565 meters on the slopes of the Pasubio, will open its doors for the usual day of high-altitude conviviality, with traditional Trentino dishes served by the volunteers.
At the moment, the detailed schedule for the 2026 edition has not yet been published: updates will be shared by the Club Malga Bisorte via their Facebook page and by the Municipality of Terragnolo.
Malga Bisorte can be reached from the municipality of Terragnolo (Vallagarina, province of Trento). From the nearest hamlet, you can hike up along the local trails (such as the Geroli - Sarta - Bisorte route); car access is limited, and appropriate mountain footwear is recommended. The hut is located at an altitude of 1,565 meters.
The hut is open on Sundays during the summer season. During the festival, traditional dishes are served in exchange for a small voluntary donation to support the Club Malga Bisorte.

Bring layered clothing, as high altitudes can be cool even in summer. We recommend combining the festival with a hike on the Pasubio trails.
