The patron saint festival of Rovereto, featuring music, local flavors, and community spirit
The Sant'Anna and San Giacomo Patronal Festival is the summer highlight where the city of Rovereto, in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige, honors its protector saints. For five evenings, spanning the feast days of San Giacomo (July 25) and Sant'Anna (July 26), the city center comes alive with people, music, and the aromas of local cuisine, renewing a tradition that weaves together popular devotion and the joy of gathering.
The heart of the event beats between two iconic city landmarks: Piazza Martiri della Libertà, the historic drawing room of Rovereto, and the nearby Parco Budenheim, a lush green space perfect for summer evenings. Both locations serve as open-air stages, each with its own unique musical atmosphere.
From 7:00 PM, the food stalls open their doors, offering a journey through local flavors and traditional Trentino festival cuisine. It is the perfect opportunity for an outdoor dinner, enjoying a variety of dishes before being swept away by live music. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is designed to be truly intergenerational: families, young people, and seniors find in the festival a genuine moment of community.
Linked to the figures of Sant'Anna, mother of the Virgin Mary, and San Giacomo the Apostle, the festival has deep roots in the popular religious life of the Rovereto area. Today, it retains its character as a community street festival, where the devotional aspect coexists with summer conviviality, offering residents and visitors one more reason to discover Rovereto at the height of the season.
From July 24 to 28, 2026, Rovereto celebrates its patrons with five evenings of festivities in the city center. Piazza Martiri della Libertà hosts funk sounds and acoustic sets, while Parco Budenheim offers country, disco, and Latin atmospheres. Food stalls open from 7:00 PM with local specialties. Free admission.
