The food and wine walk through the hills of Valsamoggia
The Magnalonga Colli Bolognesi is now a benchmark event for those who want to experience Valsamoggia, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, in an authentic way. It is a food and wine walk that combines light trekking, culture, and good food: you walk among the vineyards and villages of the Colli Bolognesi, stopping at various points to taste the typical products of the area, accompanied by local wines and musical entertainment along the way.
The 2026 edition offers a loop of about 16 km with a 250-meter elevation gain, starting and ending at Parco Fabrizio De André in Crespellano, with a route winding through Crespellano and Oliveto. The total duration is about six and a half hours, including stops: a pace designed to enjoy the landscape without rushing. The route is suitable for ages 10 and up, making it ideal for active families.
The heart of the Magnalonga are the six delicious stops spread along the loop: from a welcome coffee with a donut to breakfast with bread, jam, honey, and cheeses, up to an aperitif with tigelle, cured meats, Parmigiano Reggiano, and balsamic vinegar. It continues with rolls filled with cooked ham and cheese, grilled sausage with friggione, and to finish, a citrus ricotta and mascarpone mousse. Vegetarian options and gluten-free menus are also available, along with glasses of wine included in the package.
The event is the result of the joint work of the Pro Loco associations of Valsamoggia — Crespellano, Castello di Serravalle, Monteveglio, Bazzano, and Savigno — with the patronage of the Municipality of Valsamoggia and the collaboration of the Fondazione Rocca dei Bentivoglio. An event that sells out every spring, a sign of a strong connection with the territory and its food and wine traditions.
