The historic festival of Anzola dell'Emilia dedicated to raviôla and brazadèla
The Anzola Fair, better known as the Festival of Raviôla and Brazadèla, is the event that enlivens the center of Anzola dell'Emilia, a municipality in the metropolitan city of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna, every June. For four days, the squares and streets of the town fill with scents, music, and people, in one of the most deeply rooted and popular village festivals in the area.
The heart of the event are the two sweets that give it its name, expressed in the Bolognese dialect. The raviôla is a sweet ravioli typically filled with mostarda or jam, while the brazadèla (or brazadèla) is the classic Emilian ring cake for dipping. Around these symbols of peasant cuisine, food stalls are organized offering also crescentine, piadine, fried foods, traditional Emilian cuisine specialties, and international dishes, as well as aperitifs and artisanal ice cream.
The program, curated by Pro Loco Anzola, ranges from live concerts, comedy and cabaret shows, liscio dance performances, exhibitions, book presentations, and artistic and commercial markets spread across Piazza Berlinguer, Piazza Grimandi, and other central squares. There is also an area dedicated to children with face painting, inflatables, and entertainment, as well as moments of entertainment for the whole family that last until the evening.
Now in its 38th edition in 2026, the Anzola Fair is the result of the work of many volunteers coordinated by the Pro Loco, which celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in 2025. The event originated as a popular festival linked to the calendar of Emilia-Romagna festivals and over time has become a reference point for the community and commercial life of the Municipality of Anzola dell'Emilia, combining gastronomic heritage and cultural offerings.
The 38th edition of the Anzola Fair returns from June 18 to 21, 2026, to the center of Anzola dell'Emilia, with evening openings from 7:00 PM in Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, Piazza Berlinguer, Piazza Grimandi, and the town's streets.
As tradition dictates, the festival offers food stalls with raviôla and brazadèla, crescentine, piadine, fried foods, and Emilian specialties, alongside artistic and commercial markets, concerts, shows, and an area dedicated to children. The detailed program with artists and daily schedules will be published by Pro Loco Anzola in the weeks leading up to the event.
Program under development. The event spans four days (June 18-21, 2026) with food stalls, artistic and commercial markets, live concerts, comedy shows, and liscio dance evenings in the central squares, and a kids' area with entertainment. The detailed schedule for each evening will be released by Pro Loco Anzola.
