Zola Jazz & Wine is one of the most beloved music festivals in the metropolitan area of Bologna: a widespread event that, every spring, transforms the cellars and villages of the Bolognese Hills into open-air stages. Promoted by the Municipality of Zola Predosa, the event also involves the neighboring territories of Casalecchio di Reno and Monte San Pietro, in the Province of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna), combining great music and the region's food and wine culture.
The Monte San Pietro stop
In the Municipality of Monte San Pietro, the event takes place at the Agriturismo Malcantone Guidotti, in the hilly hamlet of San Lorenzo in Collina. It is one of the most evocative evenings of the program: the concert is held outdoors, immersed in the vineyard landscape of the hills, with the audience seated among the vines. The formula is the one that has made the festival famous: first, a tasting of the wines produced on-site, then the concert at dusk.
Music, wine, and local products
The common thread of Zola Jazz & Wine is the dialogue between jazz and the wine excellence of the Colli Bolognesi, the first DOC area in the province. Accompanying the wine are the region's specialties: mortadella and Parmigiano Reggiano, offered for free tasting to the public. The natural setting is that of the Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi, a unique karst landscape that serves as a backdrop for many of the festival's evenings.

Now in its twenty-seventh edition, the festival is distinguished by its artistic direction curated by Egea Records, a historic jazz label, in collaboration with the ComunicaMente association. The program alternates between established names on the national scene and young talents, often from conservatories. The 27th edition of Zola Jazz & Wine, titled 'Gessi in Jazz', runs from May 27 to June 28, 2026, across Zola Predosa, Casalecchio di Reno, and Monte San Pietro. The Monte San Pietro evening ideally concludes the journey through the cellars before the grand finale.
At the Agriturismo Malcantone Guidotti in San Lorenzo in Collina, the Carlo Maver Trio takes the stage with the 'NoName' project, a formation that blends bandoneon, flutes, and an essential rhythm section for a sound that mixes jazz, improvisation, and evocative atmospheres. The evening follows the classic festival formula: tasting and then a concert at dusk.

How to get there
Agriturismo Malcantone Guidotti is located at Via Silvio Venturi 4, in the hamlet of San Lorenzo in Collina, in Monte San Pietro (BO), in the Bolognese Hills southwest of Bologna. It can be reached by car from Via Bazzanese (SS569) or the panoramic road; arriving by car is recommended as the area is hilly and not well served by public transport in the evening.
Admission and tastings
Admission to the concerts is free, subject to availability. The tasting of Colli Bolognesi wines, mortadella, and Parmigiano Reggiano is also free. Reservations are recommended through the official channels of the festival.
Tips
