Walks, meetings, and responsible travel culture in the village on the Panaro
IT.A.CÀ – Migrants and Travellers is the first Italian festival entirely dedicated to responsible tourism: a travelling event that crosses numerous regions of Italy every year with a packed schedule of stops, from June to October. In the heart of Emilia-Romagna, the festival stops in Spilamberto, a village in the Province of Modena overlooking the Panaro river, within the "Valle Panaro" segment which also includes Savignano sul Panaro, Guiglia, and Castelvetro di Modena.
The 2026 edition is the eighteenth and is titled "Geographies of Peace". In a world crossed by conflicts, closures, and new frontiers, the festival proposes rethinking how we cross spaces and borders, transforming them from lines of separation into thresholds for meeting, dialogue, and knowledge. In Spilamberto, this means reflecting on accessibility and the right to travel and making space for the "Words that Walk" itinerary, a journey through memory and interculturality.
The program combines various experiences, all focused on slowness and participation:
Founded in 2009 in Bologna, IT.A.CÀ is promoted by the association YODA APS and is nationally recognized for its approach to sustainable tourism. More than just a calendar of events, the Spilamberto stop is an invitation to look at the village and the Panaro Valley with new eyes: those of the traveller who takes the time to walk, listen, and taste, contributing to the regeneration of communities and landscapes. Spilamberto is also famous for its Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and for Bensone cake, and the stop is the perfect opportunity to discover this corner of the Modena hills in a slow and conscious way.
Spilamberto is one of the Emilia-Romagna stops of the travelling festival of responsible tourism, within the "Valle Panaro" segment which takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. The Spilamberto stop focuses on the weekend of August 28-30, 2026 and offers a program that combines culture, entertainment, and reflection on conscious travel.
The detailed calendar (times, precise locations, guests, and booking methods) will be published about a month before the stop begins, as is the festival's custom.
