A bridge turned into a stage

Luci sul Ponte / Lichterbrücke is a festival that, every year at the start of summer, transforms the Vadena bridge over the Adige into a vibrant hub of celebration and culture. For one evening, the structure that daily connects the communities of Vadena, Bronzolo, and Laives is closed to cars and returned to pedestrians: in place of traffic, you will find light installations, banquet tables, and live music. The concept is captured in three words—Light+Food+Music—making this one of the most original summer events in the Adige Valley.

Light art over the Adige

The scenic heart of the event is the light installation that wraps around the bridge and reflects in the waters of the Adige. The lights trace the modern architecture of the walkway, turning it into a symbolic landmark that unites the three towns that cross it every day. At dusk, the bridge changes its face, becoming a true open-air stage where contemporary art, the river landscape, and conviviality merge into a unique experience.

Local flavors

The culinary side is dedicated to local cuisine: fish-based dishes and traditional recipes pair perfectly with regional wines, highlighting the deep bond between the river, local agriculture, and South Tyrolean dining. Visitors can choose between an aperitif, a full dinner, or simply enjoy the music in a relaxed, informal atmosphere that invites you to linger on the bridge until late in the evening.

Music and entertainment

The evening is accompanied by live concerts, DJ sets, and music that bring the bridge to life until midnight. Each edition features a specific theme and program, with artists and spectacular moments designed to engage audiences of all ages. The formula combines musical entertainment with cultural offerings that share the history and traditions of local families.

A community event

Luci sul Ponte is organized by the Municipality of Vadena (Gemeinde Pfatten), in the province of Bolzano and the Trentino-Alto Adige region, in collaboration with local cultural entities. It is a grassroots event that fosters a sense of belonging and collaboration between neighboring towns. Admission is free, and the evening is designed as a celebration open to both residents and visitors in one of the most characteristic corners of the Bassa Atesina.
