Four days on the Terrazza Mascagni to celebrate the spirit of Livorno
Livorno in Terrazza is a brand-new event making its debut on the famous Terrazza Mascagni from June 18th to 21st, 2026. Four days entirely dedicated to Livorno, its culture, and its identity, set in one of the most fascinating and photographed spots in the city: the grand black-and-white checkered terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The concept behind the event is both simple and ambitious: to enhance one of the city's symbols by transforming it into the beating heart of local life for four evenings. Every day, from 5 PM to midnight, the Terrazza comes alive with a rich, varied, and eclectic program designed for all ages and tastes, welcoming both locals and visitors.
The lineup features a mix of shows, live music, and traditional performances. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to Livorno vernacular—the city's unmistakable dialect and humor—alongside Latin American music and singer-songwriter performances. The opening night, Wednesday, June 18th, features Lamberto Giannini and the Mayor Von Frinzius theater company.
The culinary experience is a major draw: along the Terrazza, you will find street food stalls serving Tuscan and Livorno specialties, starting with the famous cacciucco, the iconic fish stew of the local cuisine. The experience is completed by craft, hobby, and wellness markets, as well as relaxation areas and refreshment points.
The festival also has a strong community and social focus. There are dedicated sports areas, games, and inflatables for children, alongside charity initiatives involving local associations such as the AVIS Comunale di Livorno, which organizes the Donor's Festival, and AIL. The heart of the event is the Targa Livornese Docche, an award presented to figures from the worlds of entertainment, sports, and local life who have distinguished themselves through their commitment and bond with the city.
Organized by Livorno City in partnership with the Municipality of Livorno and involving numerous local associations, Livorno in Terrazza aims to become a staple of the Livorno summer. Admission is free for all four evenings.
The first edition of Livorno in Terrazza transforms the Terrazza Mascagni into a grand open-air stage from June 18th to 21st, 2026. Every evening, from 5 PM to midnight, the event features a mix of shows, live music, gastronomy, and festivities. The event is presented by the Municipality of Livorno and Livorno City, with artistic direction by Polo Artistico Vinile and the involvement of numerous local associations. The common thread of all evenings is the celebration of the Livorno spirit, blending tradition, popular culture, and solidarity.
