The 44 km trail running race from Pieve di Ledro to Arco
The Ledro Trail is the 44 km race of the Garda Trentino Trail, the major trail running event that transforms the Upper Garda and Ledro Valley, in Trentino-Alto Adige, into a stage for mountain runners from all over the world every spring. The race starts from Pieve di Ledro, a village in the municipality of Ledro, and follows a route with approximately 2,400 meters of elevation gain that connects the Ledro valley floor to the pre-Alpine peaks before descending to the finish line in Arco.
After starting on the shores of Lake Ledro, the track runs along the water to Molina di Ledro, then faces a long climb towards the ridges of the Ledro Alps, rich in history and panoramic views. Reaching a maximum altitude of around 1,780 meters, the route crosses mountain passes such as Bocca Dromaè before heading towards the Tenno area and its evocative lake. The final descent along the 'Olivaia' (olive grove) path of Arco leads competitors to the finish line at Piazzale Segantini.
The Ledro Trail is one of the six races on the program, ranging from the ultra-long Garda Trentino Trail Extra (150 km) to the 12 km Castle Run, passing through the flagship 62 km race, the Tenno Trail (30 km), and the Extra 100. This variety makes the event suitable for both experienced ultra-trail runners and amateurs looking to get into mountain running in one of the most beautiful settings in Trentino.
Organized by the Garda Trentino Trail association, the event is certified as an eco-sustainable manifestation (EcoEventi Trentino / APPA) and focuses on promoting local products and reducing environmental impact, with the introduction of eco-friendly cups and refreshment points attentive to the local area. The Ledro Valley and Upper Garda offer participants and their companions a naturalistic context of great value, between alpine lakes, historic villages, and mountain trails.
The Ledro Trail 2026 was part of the eleventh edition of the Garda Trentino Trail, scheduled from May 15 to 17, 2026. The 44 km race, with approximately 2,400 meters of positive elevation gain, kicked off from Pieve di Ledro at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 16, with the finish in Arco.
