About IT.A.CÀ Arco

IT.A.CÀ – Migrants and Travelers is the first and only Italian festival entirely dedicated to responsible tourism, recognized by the UN World Tourism Organization. As part of the Trentino leg in the Ledro and Giudicarie Valleys, the municipality of Arco joins the network with concerts, walks through olive groves, and cultural encounters. The 2026 edition, themed "Geographies of Peace," invites visitors to rediscover the landscape in a slow, inclusive, and conscious way.

A widespread festival for a different kind of tourism

IT.A.CÀ – Migrants and Travelers is considered the first and only festival in Italy entirely dedicated to responsible tourism. It is a traveling national project that reaches dozens of locations across various regions every year and has been awarded by the United Nations World Tourism Organization. In the Trentino-Alto Adige region, the festival stops in the Ledro and Giudicarie Esteriori Valleys, within the UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve of Alpi Ledrensi and Judicaria. For the 2026 edition, it expands its network to include the municipality of Arco, in the Province of Trento, on Lake Garda.

"Geographies of Peace": the 2026 theme

The 2026 edition of IT.A.CÀ, the eighteenth at a national level, has chosen "Geographies of Peace" as its guiding theme: an invitation to rethink boundaries, cross cultures and landscapes with slowness, and imagine forms of travel capable of building connections rather than separation. In the Trentino leg, the landscape is explored in all its dimensions—natural, residential, sonic, and interior—through walks, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and immersive experiences.

Events in Arco

In Arco, the festival offers some of the most evocative events of the leg, hosted in the town's iconic landmarks:

  • Lame da Barba Concert — at the Parco Arciducale arboretum, the Bologna-based quartet weaves Arab-Andalusian sounds with the roots of Southern Italy for an archaic soundscape. Free admission.
  • Olive Grove Walk — a slow walk through the olive groves surrounding Arco to interpret the agricultural landscape and its history.
  • Meetings and exhibitions on landscape and art — moments of reflection hosted in the town's cultural spaces, dedicated to the relationship between territory, community, and peace.

The Parco Arciducale Arboretum

The green heart of the Arco leg, the arboretum houses about 200 different species of trees and shrubs over an area of about two hectares and is managed in collaboration with MUSE, the Science Museum of Trento. It is the ideal setting for a festival that focuses on nature, sustainability, and respect for places.

Why participate

IT.A.CÀ is not just a series of shows, but an opportunity to experience the territory in an ethical and participatory way. In Arco, between Lake Garda and the Ledro Valleys, visitors will find a free and accessible program that combines music, nature, walks, and culture, in the spirit of slow tourism that values local communities and the environment.
