The Italian stop of the World Rookie Tour for skateboard and BMX Freestyle in Riva del Garda
The Garda Rookie Fest is the new Italian stop for skateboard and BMX Freestyle, now part of the World Rookie Tour, the international circuit dedicated to discovering and nurturing young Under 18 action sports talents. The event takes place in Riva del Garda, a town in the province of Trento in the heart of Garda Trentino, Trentino-Alto Adige, at the Go Fast Skatepark on Viale degli Oleandri. For the first time, the circuit has chosen Riva del Garda as a venue for urban sports, bringing the dynamic energy of street disciplines to the lake.
This edition marks a historic milestone: alongside ramp skateboarding competitions, the Garda Rookie Fest hosts the first BMX Freestyle competition ever included in the history of the World Rookie Tour. The BMX discipline, now an Olympic sport, joins skateboarding in a unique event that brings together riders, crews, and teams from all over Europe. The event is open to both male and female athletes, following the circuit's youth categories.
The format includes days of progression and competition at the Go Fast Skatepark and open sessions:
The event is accompanied by the Garda Rookie Camp, the first BMX & Skate camp of the World Rookie Tour in Italy, featuring extra coaching sessions, training, and video shooting activities. The program is completed by the He.Art artistic project, an inclusive workshop that fosters dialogue between athletes and the community, as well as open sessions on the pump track at Parco delle Busatte in collaboration with the Garda Trentino BMX community.
For years, Riva del Garda has been one of the most beloved destinations in Garda Trentino for outdoor sports, ranging from sailing and windsurfing to climbing and mountain biking. The Go Fast Skatepark, managed by the GoFast Skateboarding association founded in 2002, houses the largest mini-ramp in Italy and is the heart of the local skate scene. The Garda Rookie Fest strengthens the town's reputation as a capital of action sports, set in a natural landscape between the lake and the mountains that makes every contest a unique experience.
From September 11th to 13th, 2026, the Go Fast Skatepark in Riva del Garda hosts the first edition of the Garda Rookie Fest, the Italian stop of the World Rookie Tour. The event introduces BMX Freestyle alongside skateboarding for the first time in the circuit's history.
The program includes free training sessions on Friday and Saturday, BMX qualifiers, and the Best Trick Contest for skate and BMX on Saturday evening, while Sunday features skateboard qualifiers, BMX and skate finals, and awards ceremonies. Competition categories include Rookie (born 2007-2010) and Grom (born 2011 onwards), open to male and female athletes. The entry fee is €30. The event is accompanied by the Garda Rookie Camp (September 10-13), the first BMX & Skate camp of the World Rookie Tour in Italy.
Riva del Garda can be reached by car via the A22 Brenner motorway (exits Rovereto Sud or Mori), then following the SS240. By train, the nearest station is Rovereto, which is connected by bus lines. The Go Fast Skatepark is located on Viale degli Oleandri.
