La Scena dei Ragazzi – Summer Edition is the summer theatre festival dedicated to children and families, held in Vico del Gargano, one of the most evocative villages in the province of Foggia, Puglia. Nestled within the Gargano's 'Borgo dei Borghi' (Village of Villages), the event is promoted by the Municipality of Vico del Gargano in collaboration with Puglia Culture, the organization that coordinates regional theatre circuits and seasons.

A programme for the little ones

The festival was created with the goal of introducing children and teenagers to the language of live theatre, taking performances out of traditional halls and into the community's symbolic spaces. The programme blends various artistic styles: storytelling, actor-led theatre, puppetry, creative workshops, magic, juggling, and street art. Each event is designed for an intergenerational audience, capable of entertaining the little ones while engaging the adults who accompany them.

The 2026 edition

The 2026 edition features five free-admission events spread between late June and late August. Opening the festival on Sunday, June 21st at 9:30 PM in Piazza Castello is the show Eccolo! by the Madimu company, written, performed, and directed by Marianna Di Muro: an animated story that invites us to look at the world with the wonder of a child. Closing the programme on August 24th in San Menaio (Piazzale della Stazione) is Il Grande Lebuski Show, a magic and juggling performance where an eccentric and extravagant character weaves together clowning, circus techniques, and cabaret to involve the audience.

The venues: from the historic centre to San Menaio

The performances move between the most characteristic spots in the municipality: the squares of the historic centre of Vico del Gargano—such as Piazza Castello and Piazza San Domenico—and the seaside village of San Menaio, a hamlet overlooking the Adriatic Sea. This roving format allows visitors to discover the most beautiful corners of the town while enjoying performances under the stars in one of the Gargano's most beloved holiday destinations.

A staple of the Gargano summer

Now in a new edition following those of 2024 and 2025, La Scena dei Ragazzi – Summer Edition has established itself as a permanent fixture of the summer cultural offerings in Vico del Gargano, becoming part of the broader 'Estate Vichese' calendar. The free-admission format makes it accessible to both residents and tourists, helping to enhance the town's public spaces and making theatre a shared experience for families.
