The festival weaving together social agriculture, inclusion, and community in Chieri
In Chieri, just outside Turin, Hubbuffate is much more than a food festival: it is a social agriculture event that highlights farms capable of combining quality production, environmental respect, and the inclusion of vulnerable people. Organized by the ExEat Social Cooperative in the ExMatta spaces (the former city slaughterhouse on Via Giovanni XXIII), the festival has grown edition after edition to become a benchmark for those who believe in a fairer and more sustainable economy.
The common thread of Hubbuffate is social agriculture: a model where the land becomes a tool for work, redemption, and dignity for those starting from a position of fragility. Through tastings, talks, workshops, and social gatherings, the festival explores themes such as short supply chains, zero waste, the circular economy, and slow mobility. Every activity is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, in line with the inclusive spirit of the event.
The program alternates between workshops for adults and children (practical herbalism, fruit processing, painting with natural colors, seed bombs, wellness, and movement), activities with local Chieri farms, and festive moments with concerts and jam sessions. The delicious heart of the event is the zero-mile street food, prepared by the ExMatta Social Restaurant and partner farms: every dish tells a story of ethical and sustainable production.
Located in the Province of Turin, at the foot of the Turin hills, Chieri offers the ideal setting for a festival that speaks of land, community, and the future. Hubbuffate was born from the Chieri local network and collaborates with organizations such as Coldiretti Torino, UE Coop Piemonte, and the Fondazione di Comunitร Chierese, confirming itself as one of the most original social agriculture experiences in Piedmont.
The fifth edition of Hubbuffate confirmed the formula that made the Chieri social agriculture festival famous: two days of workshops, taste, and commitment at the ExMatta. Promoted by the ExEat Social Cooperative, the 2026 edition focused on short supply chains, the circular economy, and slow mobility, with a program full of accessible activities. From bicycle repair workshops and herbalism to fruit processing, pet therapy, puppet shows, and African percussion concerts, the event once again combined the promotion of local Chieri farms with the value of social inclusion.

Hubbuffate takes place at ExMatta (former slaughterhouse), at Via Giovanni XXIII 8, in Chieri (TO), Piedmont.
Chieri can be reached from Turin in about 20 minutes by car. By train, the Chieri station is connected to the SFM1 metropolitan line; from the station, ExMatta is reachable on foot or by local public transport.
Access to the festival and the market is free. Workshops require a voluntary contribution starting from โฌ5 and must be booked in advance: every euro goes directly to the organizations hosting them. Activities and tastings can be booked on the official website or via the organization's contact details.
