The festival celebrating Sicily through its flavors, culture, and traditions in Castellammare del Golfo
Gustorie di Sicilia is the food, wine, and cultural festival that transforms the historic center of Castellammare del Golfo into a grand collective narrative of Sicily every late June. Promoted by the Municipality of Castellammare del Golfo in collaboration with the Feedback agency, the event offers a 360-degree immersive experience into the island's food, wine, and culture, set among the squares of this seaside town in the province of Trapani.
The program is divided into several events taking place simultaneously in the city squares, primarily Piazza Petrolo, Piazza Madrice, and Piazza Castello:
The beating heart of the festival is the Sicilian Popular Cooking Championship, a competition dedicated to the most authentic soul of the island's gastronomy: family recipes, ancient techniques, and flavors that tell the story of the land. Chefs selected from various Sicilian provinces compete in different categories, from traditional first and second courses to the grand final banquet, under the guidance of hosts and a jury of food and wine experts.
Alongside the cuisine, Gustorie di Sicilia celebrates Sicilian culture in all its forms: from literature to history, from fashion to music. Evenings conclude with free concerts, DJ sets, and performances, while fashion shows featuring Sicilian attire and cultural talks round out a program designed for both residents and tourists.
The festival was born in the wake of Sicily's recognition as the European Region of Gastronomy and chose Castellammare del Golfo as its stageโone of the most picturesque seaside villages on the Trapani coast, nestled between the harbor, the Arab-Norman castle, and the gulf beaches. It is the ideal setting to experience the Sicilian summer, surrounded by flavors, the sea, and tradition, in the territory of the Municipality of Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily.
The second edition of Gustorie di Sicilia is scheduled in Castellammare del Golfo from June 25 to 28, 2026. Once again, the festival offers its immersive journey into the flavors and culture of Sicily, with the Sicilian Popular Cooking Championship as the main attraction, accompanied by tastings, cooking shows, cultural talks, and free concerts in the historic center's squares.
The complete program for the 2026 edition, including the day-by-day schedule, artists, and competing chefs, will be published by the organization on the official website in the weeks leading up to the event. Admission to shows remains free, while tastings are paid.
Castellammare del Golfo can be reached by car via the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway, taking the Castellammare del Golfo exit. The train station is a few kilometers from the center and is connected by local buses. The nearest airports are Palermo-Punta Raisi and Trapani-Birgi.
Events take place in the historic center's squares (Piazza Petrolo, Piazza Madrice, Piazza Castello), generally from 6:00 PM until late at night.
Admission to shows and concerts is free. Tastings in the DegustaStorie section require paid tickets of various denominations. Some cooking shows have limited seating.
