The Sicilian taste village in the gardens of Villa D'Amato in Palermo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Gustando Sicilia is the food and wine event that sets up an authentic tasting village dedicated to the island's culinary excellence in the gardens of the Hotel Villa D'Amato in Palermo (via Messina Marine 178). Established in 2023, the event has quickly become one of the most popular exhibitions in the city, offering free admission and a convivial atmosphere that attracts families, foodies, and culinary enthusiasts alike.
The heart of the event is the Villaggio del Gusto (Taste Village), where Sicilian companies present and offer samples of their products: mushrooms, cheeses, wines, spices, honey, traditional sweets, and street food specialties. Visitors can engage directly with producers, discovering the stories, landscapes, and production methods behind every Sicilian gastronomic treasure.
The program alternates between entertainment and education. Cooking shows feature chefs, pasta makers, and pastry masters on stage preparing iconic Sicilian dishes live. There are also introductory courses: wine tasting "through the five senses" curated by FISAR and an introduction to craft beer by the Trinacria Homebrewers, alongside masterclasses and talks dedicated to food culture.
As evening falls, the village comes alive with live music, DJ sets, and entertainment: the formula combines the discovery of flavors with the pleasure of a night out, with a schedule running from the afternoon until late at night.
Organized by the Institute for Professional Training and the Promotion of Tourism and Culture of Sicily, Gustando Sicilia was created with the stated goal of building a bridge between the territory, the producer, and the consumer. The event takes place in the Province of Palermo, in Sicily, and represents an opportunity to promote local supply chains and the island's gastronomic heritage in a welcoming and accessible setting.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of Gustando Sicilia have not yet been announced. The food and wine event, hosted in the gardens of the Hotel Villa D'Amato in Palermo, confirms its free formula of tastings, cooking shows, craft beer and wine courses, talks with producers, and live music with each edition. It is recommended to follow the organization's official channels for updated dates.
