International Street Food is the traveling street food festival that visits dozens of Italian cities every year, including a stop in Palermo. Hosted at Piazzale Giotto (known as Piazzale Lennon) in the city of Palermo, the event transforms a large urban space for four days into an open-air village of flavors, where scents, tastes, and culinary traditions from around the globe meet in a lively and festive atmosphere.
At the heart of the event are dozens of food trucks and specialized stalls offering the very best of international street food. Highly appreciated specialties include:
The dishes are accompanied by Italian and international craft beers, traditional sweets, and numerous options designed for those following a gluten-free diet.
International Street Food is conceived and organized by A.I.R.S. - Associazione Italiana Ristoratori di Strada, chaired by Alfredo Orofino, a familiar face from the docu-reality show "Il Trono del Gusto". Over the years, the festival has become a national showcase for high-quality street food and an opportunity for tourism promotion in host cities. The Palermo leg is held in collaboration with Confartigianato Imprese Palermo and under the patronage of the City of Palermo.
With free admission and a central location, the International Street Food festival in Palermo is designed for families, young people, and food lovers alike. As part of the festival's wider Sicilian tour, which visits various locations on the island each year, it stands as one of the most popular street food events in the capital of the Sicilian Region.
The 2026 edition of International Street Food in Palermo has not yet been officially scheduled. Based on previous editions, the Palermo leg is expected in the autumn, featuring the usual free-admission village format with food trucks and international street cuisine. The final dates and program will be published by the A.I.R.S. organization on the festival's official channels.
