The festival celebrating gnocculo, the artisanal fresh pasta of Petrosino
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Gnocculo Festival is the summer event where Petrosino, a small town in the province of Trapani, celebrates its signature dish: gnocculo, a traditional handmade fresh pasta. Served hot and fragrant, the gnocculo can be enjoyed with your choice of meat or seafood sauce, accompanied by a fine glass of wine and traditional Sicilian pastries.
The event was created to promote the local organic products and the culinary heritage of Petrosino, a land of vineyards and sea located on the stretch of coast between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo. Alongside the gnocculo, visitors can enjoy local wines and traditional sweets, such as ricotta cannoli, in a tasting journey that captures the authentic flavors of Western Sicily.
The festival is traditionally held at the Borgo Marinaro in Petrosino, the historic seaside district overlooking the Mediterranean, which becomes the heart of the town's evening life during the summer. The event combines gastronomy, conviviality, and live music, with workshops and activities dedicated to local traditions that engage families and visitors of all ages.
Supported by the Municipality of Petrosino and local associations, the Gnocculo Festival is a recurring summer highlight in Petrosino, drawing both residents and tourists during the peak season on the Trapani coast. It is a wonderful opportunity to discover not only the signature dish but also the hospitality and gastronomic identity of this corner of Sicily.
At the moment, the Municipality of Petrosino and the organizers have not yet published the official dates for the 2026 edition of the Gnocculo Festival. The festival is a recurring summer event in Petrosino and usually takes place in July at the Borgo Marinaro, featuring gnocculo tastings, local wine, and live music. The detailed program will be announced on the official municipal channels in the months leading up to the event.
The festival takes place at the Borgo Marinaro in Petrosino (province of Trapani, Sicily). Admission to the event is traditionally free, with tastings available for purchase.
Petrosino can be reached by car via the provincial road along the coast between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo. The nearest airports are Trapani-Birgi and Palermo; the nearest train station is in Marsala, just a few kilometers away.
The event takes place in the height of summer, so light clothing is recommended. As it is a very popular festival, it is advisable to arrive early to avoid queues at the tasting stalls.
