The late-summer festival celebrating identity and local heritage in the heart of Menfi
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Menfi in Festa is the annual event that marks the end of summer in Menfi, gathering the entire community in the historic center of Menfi, in the province of Agrigento, in south-western Sicily. For three days, usually during a weekend in late September, the squares and streets of the village become a sprawling stage for culture, entertainment, sports, crafts, and fine dining.
The schedule, built around the theme of identity and territory, weaves together diverse genres and styles. Offerings range from book presentations to musical interludes, from historical pageants in period costumes set to the melodies of The Leopard to dance performances, and evening concerts in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele featuring DJ sets and 90s revivals. The event also highlights local associations, legal awareness, and various conferences.
The beating heart of the festival is the gastronomic area: the tasting stalls offer samples of local products and the renowned wines of the Menfi area, among the most appreciated in Sicily. Beyond the culinary offerings, the village opens its museums, historic clubs, and craft workshops, featuring demonstrations of ancient trades such as straw weaving, crochet, and glasswork. Guided urban tours lead visitors through courtyards, exhibitions, and hidden corners of the town center.
Overlooking the coast between Selinunte and Eraclea Minoa, with the seaside resorts of Porto Palo and Lido Fiori, Menfi is a 17th-century village known for the quality of its wine production and its beaches awarded the Green Flag. Menfi in Festa was created to showcase this identity, forged by land and sea, and to share the Sicily Region in its most authentic and welcoming form. The event is organized by the Municipality of Menfi in collaboration with local associations, and admission to all events is free.
The 2026 edition of Menfi in Festa is expected to confirm the traditional late-summer appointment in the historic center of Menfi, in the province of Agrigento. At the moment, the exact dates and the detailed program have not yet been released by the organizers. Following the trend of previous editions, a weekend in September dedicated to culture, music, entertainment, crafts, and tastings of local products and wines is anticipated. We recommend checking the official channels of the Municipality of Menfi for the updated calendar.
By car: Menfi can be reached via the SS115 along the south-western coast of Sicily, between Sciacca and Castelvetrano. By train: the nearest station is Castelvetrano, which is connected by bus. By plane: Palermo and Trapani-Birgi airports are both about an hour and a half away by car.
Admission to the events is free. The festival generally takes place over a weekend in late September, with events running from morning until late at night, concentrated in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and the historic center.
We recommend checking the official channels of the Municipality of Menfi for the updated program. For those visiting the area, don't miss the beaches of Porto Palo and Lido Fiori and a tasting at the local wineries.
