The gala dinner dedicated to Gewürztraminer in its hometown
The GewürzTRAMINer Dinner is the most exclusive food and wine event in Termeno sulla strada del vino (Tramin an der Weinstraße), in the Province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. The village is universally recognized as the cradle of Gewürztraminer, the great aromatic white wine that takes its name from this very place and has become a true icon of South Tyrolean viticulture.
The dinner takes place in the intimate and elegant setting of Ansitz Romani, a historic residence in Termeno that houses a restaurant with limited seating. At the helm is chef and host Armin Pernstich, who crafts a refined five-course menu for the occasion: from spring appetizers to fish and meat dishes, all the way to dessert, every course is designed to harmonize with the wine.
The heart of the evening is the wine pairing curated by sommelier and taste ambassador Paolo Tezzele: seven different Gewürztraminers from Termeno, presented in their many facets, from classic to modern styles. The tasting journey is completed by premium local Gewürztraminer grappas. The signature notes of rose, lychee, exotic fruit, and spices of the grape variety accompany the entire menu.
The GewürzTRAMINer Dinner was created as an exclusive evening format that complements and partially replaces the traditional GewürzTRAMINer Wineday (the Weinwandertag), the wine-themed walk along the Gewürztraminerweg that brings the village vineyards to life every spring. The initiative is promoted by Standortentwicklung Tramin, the local development agency, which highlights the deep bond between the community, its winemakers, and the signature grape variety.
Limited seating, an elegant atmosphere, and deep roots in local winemaking tradition make the GewürzTRAMINer Dinner a highly sought-after event that regularly sells out well in advance. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the gastronomic soul of Termeno and the rich nuances of one of Europe's most aromatic white wines, tasted right where it was born.
The second edition of the GewürzTRAMINer Dinner took place on Friday, April 24, 2026, in the refined setting of the Ansitz Romani in Termeno. The exclusive gala dinner format was confirmed, featuring a five-course menu signed by chef Armin Pernstich.
Sommelier Paolo Tezzele guided guests through a tasting of seven different Gewürztraminers from Termeno, ranging from classic to modern interpretations, complemented by local Gewürztraminer grappas. The initiative, promoted by Standortentwicklung Tramin, was fully booked before the evening even began.
