The first craft beer festival in the Gargano region, held in Peschici
The Gargano Beer Fest is the first festival entirely dedicated to craft beer to emerge on the Gargano promontory. Every July, it brings Piazza Sandro Pertini to life in the heart of the historic center of Peschici, one of the most picturesque seaside villages in Puglia, in the province of Foggia. For two nights, the square fills with beer taps, tasting stalls, the aromas of seafood cuisine, and live music, creating a convivial atmosphere overlooking the Adriatic.
The event is conceived and organized by Birra del Gargano, with artistic direction by Vincenzo Ottaviano, and is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Peschici in collaboration with Unionbirrai, the national association of small independent breweries. The goal is to promote craft brewing culture by bringing selected labels from Puglian microbreweries and beyond to the Gargano, in a tourist setting that attracts thousands of visitors during the summer.
The heart of the festival is the craft beer on tap, served with free access to the square and consumption via tokens. Alongside the taps, the program includes free workshops curated by Unionbirrai—educational sessions with guided tastings dedicated to the history and culture of beer, as well as a journey through the world's beer styles.
The culinary offerings focus on local flavors: seafood sandwiches, paposcia, fried fish, pastries, and drinks made with Gargano citrus fruits, creating a natural pairing between street food and beer mugs. The evenings conclude with live concerts and DJ sets that animate the square until late at night, making the Gargano Beer Fest one of the highlights of Peschici's summer, included in the municipal "L'estate addosso" program.
The setting for the event is Peschici, perched on a rocky spur overlooking the sea, one of the most beloved destinations on the Gargano coast. Visiting the festival is also an opportunity to discover the village, its beaches, the trabucchi (traditional fishing platforms), and the Foresta Umbra, in a weekend that combines Puglia, the sea, and great beer.
The second edition of the Gargano Beer Fest was held on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Piazza Sandro Pertini in Peschici, starting at 7:00 PM. The event, curated by Birra del Gargano with artistic direction by Vincenzo Ottaviano, featured fifteen craft beers on tap from four breweries: Lieviteria, Birranova, Cantaloop, and Birra del Gargano.
The collaboration with Unionbirrai was confirmed, featuring two free tasting workshops dedicated to the history and culture of beer and the world's beer styles. Accompanying the beers was a selection of local street food—seafood sandwiches, paposcia, fried fish, pastries, and Gargano citrus drinks—along with live music evenings. Access to the square was free, with consumption via tokens.
Peschici can be reached by car via the SS89 Garganica road; the nearest airport is Bari-Palese, while the reference train station is Foggia, which is connected to Peschici by bus lines. In summer, maritime connections are active along the Gargano coast.
Access to Piazza Sandro Pertini is free; beers and food are paid for using a token system available on-site. Unionbirrai tasting workshops are free until capacity is reached.
Given the high tourist season, it is recommended to book accommodation in Peschici or nearby Gargano towns well in advance.
