Galatone in Pentola is one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in the summer calendar of Galatone, a town in the province of Lecce in the heart of Salento, Puglia. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Galatone, transforms the spectacular Piazza del SS. Crocifisso della Pietà for one night into a large open-air restaurant, where traditional dishes are prepared and served directly at stalls set up among the historic buildings of the center.

It is part of the extensive Estate Galatea program, the summer festival organized by the Municipality of Galatone, which offers dozens of events including music, theater, culture, and gastronomy between June and September. Galatone in Pentola represents one of the most iconic moments of this calendar, an opportunity for residents and tourists to rediscover the authentic flavors of Salento in a festive and shared atmosphere.
For 2026, Galatone in Pentola is confirmed for August 19, as part of the Estate Galatea 2026 – "Centro di gravità permanente" summer program promoted by the Municipality of Galatone, which offers over fifty events between June and September. The evening, organized by the Pro Loco of Galatone, brings back to Piazza del SS. Crocifisso della Pietà the stalls featuring Galatone cuisine: homemade pasta, pettule, potato panzerotti, grilled sausage, and traditional desserts. Free admission. Tastings are paid for at the stalls using specific tickets. The event takes place in the evening, generally starting from 8:30 PM.
Arrive early to avoid queues at the most popular stalls; the historic center is pedestrianized during the event, so it is best to park in the surrounding areas.
