About Fritt&Pizza Festival

Every summer, Via Roma in the heart of Roccasecca transforms into a vibrant culinary village dedicated to fried pizza. The Fritt&Pizza Festival brings together Italian and international master pizzaioli, traditional fried delicacies from Lazio and Campania, handmade gnocchi, craft beers, and street food, with a dedicated gluten-free area to ensure everyone can join the fun. Circus acts, street performers, DJ sets, and children's entertainment keep the energy high until late at night.

An evening dedicated to fried pizza

For over a decade, the Fritt&Pizza Festival has been the gastronomic highlight of the summer in Roccasecca, a town in the province of Frosinone, Southern Lazio. For one full evening, Via Roma is closed to traffic and turns into a sprawling food village: frying stations, ovens, communal tables, lights, and live music line the street, drawing thousands of visitors from the Ciociaria region, lower Lazio, and nearby Campania.

Fried pizza: a shared heritage

The undisputed star is a humble, ancient dish: fried pizza, which began as street food in working-class kitchens and has since been rediscovered as a symbol of conviviality. In Roccasecca, local tradition blends with the Neapolitan style in a border territory where these two culinary cultures have always communicated. Alongside fried pizza, you will find Roman-style pizza, Neapolitan pizza, traditional fried snacks from Lazio and Campania, and handmade gnocchi, prepared just as tradition dictates.

Master pizzaioli and guests of honor

The event stands out for the quality of its participants: each edition gathers Italian and international master pizzaioli who prepare their creations in full view of the public. For the 2026 edition, the announced guest of honor is Luciano Sorbillo, a name linked to one of the most renowned Neapolitan pizza dynasties. Watching the dough take shape and dive into the boiling oil is an integral part of the experience: the festival is not just a place to eat, but a place to learn about the craft.

Craft beers and a gluten-free area

The culinary offering is rounded out by a selection of craft beers and street food options. The gluten-free area is particularly appreciated, allowing those with celiac disease to enjoy the festival without compromise; in past editions, lactose-free options have also been available. This attention to detail speaks volumes about the event's spirit: a local festival that strives to be welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

Shows, music, and entertainment

The program goes beyond the dinner table. Along Via Roma, you will find circus-themed shows, street performers, DJ sets, and children's entertainment, making the evening perfect for families. Previous editions have featured folk music from lower Lazio, the 'saltarello' dance reimagined with electronic beats, and a craft and hobby market, showcasing an event that successfully blends taste, tradition, and innovation.

Organizers

The festival is promoted by the Terra Bianca Association in collaboration with the Ristorante Pizzeria Casa Magnolia in Roccasecca, with the support of local businesses. It is a grassroots event built by the hard work of volunteers and local businesses, which has grown over the years to become one of the most anticipated dates in the Frosinone province's summer calendar.

Roccasecca: between Aquino and the Liri Valley

Roccasecca rises on the slopes of the Cairo Mountains, dominated by the ruins of the castle where, according to tradition, Saint Thomas Aquinas was born. The village, overlooking the Liri Valley, combines significant historical heritage with simple, flavorful country cuisine. Attending the Fritt&Pizza Festival is the perfect opportunity to discover this corner of Lazio, away from mass tourism, amidst medieval fortresses, abbeys, and Apennine landscapes.

Fritt&Pizza Festival โ€” edition 2026

The 13th edition of the Fritt&Pizza Festival returns to Roccasecca on August 3, 2026. Via Roma transforms into a large culinary village featuring Italian and international master pizzaioli led by guest of honor Luciano Sorbillo. Alongside fried pizza, there will be traditional specialties, street food, craft beers, and a gluten-free area, while circus-themed shows, street performers, DJ sets, and children's entertainment accompany the evening.
