The Flavors and Earth Market is a food and wine festival that brings the village of Tegoleto, in the municipality of Civitella in Val di Chiana (Arezzo), to life every spring. Established in 2019, the event has quickly become a staple in the Valdichiana calendar, standing out as one of the most cherished short-supply-chain markets in the Arezzo area.

The setting is the Church Square, which has been recently renovated: for one full Sunday, it transforms into a vibrant open-air space where producer stalls alternate with moments of conviviality, meetings, and family-friendly activities.

The Slow Food philosophy

The market is promoted by the Municipality of Civitella in Val di Chiana in collaboration with Slow Food Valdichiana and the C&T Comunità di Tegoleto. This is no ordinary market: as the organizers like to say, it is "a place where we build trust in what we eat." Each producer is present in person to share the story of their products, adhering to the Slow Food principles of good, clean, and fair, while championing local sourcing, seasonality, and short supply chains.

The stalls showcase many of the finest products from the Valdichiana and the Arezzo region:

• Honey, featuring the Pieve al Toppo Honey Fair;
• Saffron from the Valdichiana;
• Preserves and short-supply-chain products from the Conserveria of Castiglion Fiorentino.
