The Valdichiana Beer Festival

When November arrives and mist blankets the Valdichiana hills, Novemberfest comes to life in Montecchio Vesponi, a village in the municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino in the province of Arezzo. Organized by the Rione di Porta Romana APS, this beer festival is openly inspired by the Munich Oktoberfest, bringing the convivial atmosphere of great German celebrations to Tuscany with beer steins, crowded tables, and a festive spirit that fills the Sports Center for two full weekends.

Seven Evenings of Beer and Bavarian Cuisine

The heart of Novemberfest is its kitchen. At the food stands, open from 7:30 PM, you can enjoy the specialties that have made the Bavarian tradition famous: roasted pork knuckle, sausages, spätzle, canederli, goulash, Tyrolean cold cuts and cheeses, pretzels, and, to finish, strudel. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available to cater to all tastes. Accompanying the dishes is a selection of German, international, and craft beers, including special brews created with local breweries.

Music, Entertainment, and Charity

Each evening features its own entertainment program: DJ sets, live bands, themed 70s-80s-90s nights, and dinner shows liven up the large marquee. For families, there is a dedicated area with games and entertainment for children, while the final evening is traditionally dedicated to charity, with proceeds donated to local associations. It is this sense of community, even more than the beer, that makes Novemberfest such a highly anticipated event.

Novemberfest was born from the commitment of the Rione di Porta Romana, one of the districts that animate the city life of Castiglion Fiorentino and the famous Palio dei Rioni.
