Two days of comics, gaming, and pop culture in the heart of the Ciociaria spa town
Fiuggi Comics & Games is a festival dedicated to comics, gaming, and pop culture held in Fiuggi, a famous spa town in the province of Frosinone, in the heart of the Ciociaria region and the Lazio area. Launched in 2025, the event takes place in Piazza Martiri di Nassiriya, one of the town's most vibrant modern spaces, which is transformed for an entire weekend into an open-air village populated by cosplayers, gaming tables, publishing stands, and performance stages.
The heart of the festival lies in the fusion of different creative languages. Alongside exhibitors of comics, manga, and graphic novels, there are dedicated areas for board games and video games, with free-play stations and tournaments open to everyone. The format mirrors large industry fairs but on a human scale: visitors can move in just a few meters from a role-playing game to a drawing session or a meet-and-greet with authors and creators.
The cosplay contest is one of the most anticipated events: it is open to all cosplayers who want to take the stage and show off their costumes to the public. Parades mark the two days, drawing enthusiasts not just from Fiuggi and neighboring towns, but from all over southern Lazio. The convivial atmosphere of the square does the rest: the audience participates, applauds, and takes photos, with the costumes becoming part of the urban landscape for the entire weekend.
The programming goes beyond comics. Each edition complements the fair with a series of live performances: musicals inspired by great animation classics, musical shows dedicated to villains, concerts, and storytelling moments. Starting with the 2026 edition, the festival also hosts the finals of the Future Frequencies AI Music Fest, an innovative event exploring the relationship between music and artificial intelligenceโa choice that brings a highly topical theme to Fiuggi and expands the event's audience beyond just comic book fans.
Fiuggi Comics & Games is designed as a free event suitable for all ages. Children's areas, animation workshops, and musical moments for younger visitors coexist with more technical offerings aimed at collectors and gamers. It is a formula that has worked since the very first edition, when the festival also involved several local radio stations with live broadcasts and interviews from the square.
Attending the festival is also an opportunity to discover Fiuggi. The town is divided between Fiuggi Cittร , the medieval village perched on the hill with its narrow alleys and walls, and Fiuggi Fonte, the spa area developed between the 19th and 20th centuries around the famous oligomineral water springs, frequented by popes and great Renaissance figures alike. Between a cosplay parade and a tournament, you can stroll through the park of the springs, head up to the historic center, or taste Ciociarian cuisine in the local eateries. The altitude of nearly 750 meters above sea level also provides cooler summer evenings compared to the plainsโa non-negligible detail for a festival that runs until late at night.
The festival returns to Fiuggi on July 25-26, 2026, for its second edition, once again at Piazza Martiri di Nassiriya. Two days dedicated to the world of comics, gaming, and pop culture, with guests, shows, and some significant new features compared to the 2025 debut.
The most significant addition is the arrival in Fiuggi of the finals of the Future Frequencies AI Music Fest 2026, a festival exploring the possibilities of music generated and assisted by artificial intelligence: a section that adds contemporary and cross-disciplinary content to the fair program. The cosplay contest is confirmed, open to anyone who wants to take the stage in costume, along with musical performances and spaces dedicated to children.
Access remains completely free, consistent with the format of the first edition and the "Estate a Fiuggi 2026" calendar, of which the event is a highlight in July.
The detailed schedule is published by the organizers on the official flyer and the Fiuggi town channels.
